“That’s why we upset Toto Wolff so much”- Red Bull team principal Christian Horner takes dig at Mercedes boss
“That’s why we upset Toto Wolff so much”- Red Bull team principal Christian Horner mocks Mercedes boss in the recent podcast interview.
The bosses at Red Bull, Mercedes and even at Ferrari never misses a chance taking a jibe at each other, even if it is in light humour. The rivalry always follows off the track too.
In the recent interview of Red Bull team principal Christian Horner in the Talking Bull podcast on the occasion of 300 races by Red Bull, which they celebrated at Istanbul, Horner made a slight dig at Toto Wolff while asked about the energy shown by the Austrian team inside their pit.
“There’s a vibe, there are a buzz and people feed off that. And if you enjoy what you do you do it that much better. That’s why there’s people walking around the factory in jeans and t-shirt, or in shorts.” said Horner.
“We work hard, we play hard”, Horner says, laughing. “We play our music louder in the garage than the others. … That energy just runs around the whole team. That’s why we upset Toto Wolff so much.”
Didn’t have parties this year
When asked if Red Bull has changed anything about their parties in recent years, to which Horner replied: “We haven’t had any parties this year”.
Red Bull for the long part of the season was contesting Mercedes’ dominance, but they couldn’t compete against them for long, as the Silver Arrows won the title, before the last four races in the season.
It was understood that the Austrian side couldn’t compete with their rivals for long, as it was only challenging them on their one leg in the name of Max Verstappen while Alex Albon failed to give consistent performances over the season.
Which has now led to doubt over his position for the next year, with Sergio Perez and Nico Hulkenberg aspiring to take the vulnerable spot at Red Bull.
