“The Grand Prix Circus Cannot Wait”: $140,000,000 Lewis Hamilton Movie Gets Hits Roadblock With Latest Update

The stock of Formula One has never been stronger than it is right now, courtesy of Liberty Media’s agreement with Netflix to popularise the sport via a documentary series called, Drive to Survive. Since then, the F1 community has grown in popularity as a source of entertainment, with one of the most anticipated films starring the legendary star Brad Pitt and Lewis Hamilton working behind the scenes.

The film will be broadcast via AppleTV under the rumored working title Apex. With such high stakes, the film has undoubtedly begun production, with glimpses of it being seen at the British and Hungarian Grand Prix. However, the film, whose budget is around $140,000,000, has hit a serious roadblock as reported by F1 commentator Ted Kravitz.

Sky Commentator provides fresh details about Lewis Hamilton’s movie

According to the most recent developments reported by F1 analyst Ted Kravitz via Crash.net, Lewis Hamilton’s $140 million movie is on hold, as the Actors Union continues its battle with the major studios. So does this mean that Hamilton’s film will be completely canceled? For that, we have to delve a little deeper into the context.

The Sky analyst went on to say that, while the film has been put on hold, it will be restarted soon, depending on how quickly the Hollywood industry’s debate is resolved. Kravitz adds some more details and reports from the USGP that the film’s director, Jerry Bruckheimer, was ‘here’ to interact with the people.

The commentator further noted that the drivers’ briefing, during which the drivers were shown some of the rushes that they had were also edited together. This is in reference to the sequences that will be used in the films. Kravitz stated during his conversation, “ Once the actors are back to work, they can carry on production. But clearly, it is going to be offset into next year.” While wrapping up, Kravitz said, “ The grand prix circus cannot wait for such antics and politics going on in Hollywood!”

Though Kravitz might have shared the latest details on the upcoming film, it was initially the film’s co-producer, Sir Lewis Hamilton who addressed the uncertainties surrounding the movie. With that, one might speculate how the British racing driver would have responded in the midst of the ongoing strike in Hollywood, which might directly affect the film.

Lewis Hamilton addresses the uncertainties surrounding Brad Pitt’s film

Given the current strike in the Hollywood film industry regarding inadequate wages and the rise of artificial intelligence, Brad Pitt’s F1 movies’ future has been uncertain for quite some time. Amidst this skepticism, Lewis Hamilton who is also a co-producer of the film has downplayed any concerns about the film’s production being scrapped. During a discussion after the Dutch Grand Prix earlier this year, the Mercedes maestro divulged a few details.

The 7x champion stated that the film still has Apple’s full support. According to Planet F1, the British driver responded to a query regarding his fears over the film’s cancellation. After his initial “no” on the matter, he gradually added up the reasons for his optimism.  He said,  “I know that Apple is fully behind us and wants us to go ahead. Everyone in the team is fully focused on making the greatest movie we can and it’s just a matter of time. It’s definitely not the easiest time, I think, for actors around the world, but hopefully it’s something that will be resolved in the not-too-distant future.

While wrapping up the conversation, Hamilton said, “I’m not massively concerned just yet.” However, the F1 season will end next month, leaving fans disappointed, it remains to be seen when the Hollywood industry will restart operations to announce the release date of the movie
