WATCH: When Red Bull's Max Verstappen Took the Fight to Japan's Bullet Train

Red Bull Motorsports arguably have by far the best social media team, who put up some great content. The Milton Keynes outfit for a long time has shot some spectacular videos, in which their drivers have taken the cars to various cities and various parts of these cities.

Sometimes these Red Bulls have raced airplanes and at other times their drivers have driven these cars in the desert to name a few scenarios. Irrespective of where the team plans to shoot their videos, they guarantee a spectacle for their fans on almost every occasion.

Here is a look back at a video from earlier this year when reigning champion Max Verstappen raced a Shinkansen (bullet train) in Japan.

Max Verstappen races a Japanese Shinkansen

In a video posted by Red Bull Motorsport in January of this year, Max Verstappen went flat-out racing against a Japanese Shinkansen, which has a top speed of 320 km/hr (200 mph). While he could not quite match the speed of the Shinkansen, it shows the incredibly straight-line speed the Red Bull has.

This video received all kinds of reactions from fans as some expressed surprise, while others stated that Red Bull had finally gotten a worthy opponent. Meanwhile, some also hilariously stated that the train used DRS to beat Verstappen.

Verstappen has an outstanding start to his 2023 season

Max Verstappen seems to have carried on from where he left off last season as he has had a brilliant start to the 2023 season. The reigning double world champion has already clinched two victories this year and a second-place finish after the first three races. Consequently of these results, he has scored 69 points out of a maximum of 78.

He currently has a 15-point lead over his Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez and a 24-point lead over third-placed Fernando Alonso. Considering how dominant Red Bull has been in this season so far, it seems that the fight for the Drivers’ Championship this season will be between the two teammates.

However, if Perez still wants to have a realistic chance in the tight fight, he cannot allow Verstappen from moving too far ahead. The Mexican will hope that he can reduce the gap to Verstappen at the next race in Baku, which takes place from April 28 to 30.
