“We already have some ideas” – Pierre Gasly happy after covering most laps during pre-season testing in Bahrain
“We already have some ideas” – Pierre Gasly is satisfied with his AlphaTauri outing after covering the most laps of any driver during pre-season testing in Bahrain.
Pierre Gasly had a sensational 2020 with AlphaTauri, winning his first-ever F1 Grand Prix. The Frenchman has continued the good over this year, clocking the most laps of any driver during pre-season testing in Bahrain. His team was also the joint-highest when it came to mileage, tied with Alfa Romeo.

Gasly spoke after Sunday’s session about the improvement he feels in AlphaTauri vis-a-vis last season. His teammate Yuki Tsunoda was also impressive, finishing P2 on the final day.
“You always find things to improve. But to be honest, after three days, [it’s] a lot better than where we were at the same time last year in Barcelona after the same amount of time. So I’m really happy.
“I think we know which opponents are going to be very fast as well. We already have some ideas. I think we know where we struggle a little bit at the moment but hopefully, we can find some answers in the coming days before we come back here for the race. But I really hope we can be in the fight, especially for some good points.”
