When Charles Leclerc Almost Missed the 2022 Hungarian GP After Getting Lost en Route to the Racetrack

While on the racetrack, Charles Leclerc is a fantastic driver with the potential of becoming an F1 world champion in the future. However, on everyday roads, the Ferrari racer might not be the most reliable driver you’d want.

The Monegasque has been trolled by fans for his questionable parking skills. But it turns out, the 5-time GP-winning driver also struggles with directions while on the co-pilot’s seat. As Leclerc got lost on his way to the Hungaroring for the 2022 Hungary GP just hours before the race started.

Charles Leclerc got lost ahead of the Hungarian GP

Charles Leclerc was travelling with his performance coach Andrea Ferrari to the Hungaroring for the 2022 Hungarian GP. Leclerc was navigating his coach Ferrari to the circuit, yet, the F1 driver messed up his directions.

In a video posted by a Twitter user ‘leclercsletters,‘ the 5-time GP winner asked Ferrari to keep continuing through an isolated road. Ferrari was doubtful of where he was heading.  Yet, the Monegasque was pretty confident about his directions.

Ferrari reasoned that they might be heading the wrong way and that he saw a cab heading the opposite way. To which, the F1 driver responded, “That means we are going in the right direction.”

The two continued down the road, but when the road opened up, there was no race track. Rather they found themselves facing an empty field. Leclerc joked, “Look at the field I brought you to!” as they scrambled their way to the circuit for the race.

Leclerc got lost again in Melbourne

After losing his way around the roads of Hungary, Charles Leclerc got lost in Melbourne. The Ferrari driver arrived late at Albert Park for the Free Practice session on Friday ahead of the 2023 Australian GP.

The driver was seen walking briskly towards the paddock while he was stopped by a reporter. The Monegasque was asked about his thoughts regarding the upcoming race.

Leclerc claimed it felt great to be in the land down under, but he was getting late for a crucial briefing. The driver politely replied, “I’m sorry I’m in a bit of a rush lately. I lost myself on the road, unfortunately, and I have a meeting now.”

The driver quickly signed some autographs for the fans gathered to see him. He then quickly went into the paddock for the driver’s briefing and to learn the team’s setup before the race.
