FA Charge Bournemouth’s Jefferson Lerma Over Allegations Of Biting Opponent: Lerma has gone onto adamantly deny the claims of wrong doing being levelled on him
The Football Association have decided to begin proceedings against Jefferson Lerma after claims of him biting a Sheffield Wednesday payer surfaced. Confirming that the Bournemouth midfielder was being charged for the offence, the FA released a statement which dealt upon the nuances of the investigation being carried out by the body.

“AFC Bournemouth’s Jefferson Lerma has been charged with a breach of FA Rule E3.
“It is alleged that the midfielder committed an act of violent conduct by biting a Sheffield Wednesday FC player during the 83rd minute of an EFL Championship game on Tuesday 3 November 2020,” the FA statement read.
“Jefferson Lerma has until Thursday 24 December 2020 to provide a response.”
The incident is said to have taken place last month during Bournemouth’s 1-0 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship. The malicious act which is said to have unfolded in the 83rd went unnoticed with referee Jeremy Simpson and his assistants failing to take note of the violent conduct during the showdown.
Bournemouth And Lerma Deny The Allegations
Bournemouth have meanwhile come out strongly in support of their midfielder with the club refuting the allegations being levied on their player. The club was quick to voice its unnerving support for Lerma with a statement released going onto read:
AFC Bournemouth acknowledge the FA’s charge relating to Jefferson Lerma breaching FA Rule E3 during a Sky Bet Championship fixture at Sheffield Wednesday on 3rd November 2020.
“Jefferson strenuously denies the allegation made against him and has cooperated fully with the FA’s initial investigations into the alleged incident. He will request a hearing over the charge.
“AFC Bournemouth fully support Jefferson and will continue to do so throughout the process. The club will make no further comment at this time.”
26 year old Lerma has turned into a valuable asset for Bournemouth this season. His 17 appearances for the club in their 20 encounters have seen him control proceedings in midfield with the player emerging as an integral component of the club’s wheel to help guide the side into second spot.
