Faf du Plessis dismissal vs NZ: Watch South African captain gets bowled off Lockie Ferguson's lethal yorker

Faf du Plessis dismissal vs NZ: The South African captain was undone by an unplayable delivery from Lockie Ferguson at Edgbaston.

During the 25th match of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 between New Zealand and South Africa at Edgbaston, South Africa captain Faf du Plessis’ stumps were castled by New Zealand fast bowler Lockie Ferguson’s lethal yorker.

It all happened on the last delivery of the 14th over when Ferguson literally planned de Plessis’ dismissal by his varying stock of deliveries.

After being punched off the back foot for a boundary by du Plessis, Ferguson bowled a fatal bouncer in high 140s to beat the batsman. The last ball of the over saw Ferguson bowl an unplayable yorker, leaving du Plessis clueless as he walked back to the dressing room. Ferguson continually bowling at the same speed came as a delight for the viewers.

Du Plessis, who came in to bat at No. 3 in the second over, ended up scoring 23 (35) with the help of four fours. His dismissal saw the Proteas getting reduced to 59/2 in 14 overs. In a slight spot of bother, South Africa would be hoping for Hashim Amla and Aiden Markram to bail them out of this situation.

It was New Zealand captain Kane Williamson who won the toss and put the opposition in to bat. While New Zealand fielded an unchanged playing XI, South Africa included a ‘fit’ Lungi Ngidi in place of Beuran Hendricks.
