It seems like the frustration of fans are not going to end anytime soon, as team India find themselves on the back foot on Day 2 of the ongoing World Test Championship final 2023 against Australia at the Kennington Oval. The latest victim of the their ire is star Indian batter Virat Kohli, who returned back after scoring 14 runs during the first innings.

Playing the catch-up game after Australia posted a massive total of 469/10 in their first innings, eyes were on Kohli after the top-3 batters in Rohit Sharma (15), Shubman Gill (13), and Cheteshwar Pujara (14) were dismissed before the 15-over mark.
However, on the second delivery of the 19th over, the 34-year-old was greeted with a absolute snotter of a delivery from Mitchell Starc. Undone by the extra bounce, there was no way Kohli was going to let go of that delivery angling away from his face height. Consequently, the ball nicked the shoulder of his bat and lobbed into the hands of the second slip.
A few minutes after his dismissal, Kohli was seen having his dinner while interacting with the likes of Gill, Ishan Kishan and batting coach Vikram Rathour.
Fan Trolls Virat Kohli For Having Dinner Right After Dismissal In WTC Final 2023
As Kohli was merrily in conversation with the aforementioned people with his dinner supper, the fact that he wore a carefree look on his face did not go down well with a certain section of fans. The very picture which was caught on camera, had also made sure that it was time for the trolls to get on with the work they do best.
As has been the case in the past as well, certain fans were yet again convinced that Kohli (and other batters) had no regrets upon getting out cheaply in an ICC final match with the team having its back against the wall.
One particular verified account even took a hilarious dig at Kohli by taking the reference of the ever-famous Burger-Pizza video from one of Pakistan’s comedians post his team’s loss to India during the 2019 World Cup.
Team India Five Wickets Down At Stumps On Day 2
Ajinkya Rahane (29*) and Ravindra Jadeja (48) scored some quick runs post Kohli’s wicket, and most importantly made sure that wickets did not tumble one after the other. However, Jadeja’s wicket yet again brought Australia back in the driver’s seat.
With half-the-side back in the hut, India were still trailing by 318 runs in the first innings, with Srikar Bharat (5*) to resume batting alongside Rahane on Day 3.
