Ferrari release official statement on Raikkonen’s future
Raikkonen’s future has been a cause of concern for many F1 fans as no official confirmation has been made regarding his Ferrari seat for 2019.
With the Italian GP set for this weekend, one would have expected Ferrari to make an announcement, as they have in the past.
An announcement has been made, but it has provided no clarity with respect to the Finn’s future.
“We still have not made a decision about Kimi and if he continues” said Louis Camilleri, the new CEO of Ferrari.
“I’m optimistic because we have a great car in order to get the title” he added.

Kimi Raikkonen has been hopeful of a Ferrari renewal, as he had suggested early on in the season that he had let Ferrari know about his intentions to continue. The ball thus has been in Ferrari’s court for sometime now, but they haven’t quite made a decision yet.
Last night, Raikkonen had said that people could expect an announcement at Monza and while the announcement has come, it is one that has changed nothing in context of Raikkonen’s future.
Charles Leclerc would still be hopeful of a Ferrari seat as the move hasn’t been ruled out yet. But the uncertainty could cause some unrest for Kimi and the Ferrari staff, unless they know what is happening.
Do you think Raikkonen will continue in Ferrari?
