Plenty of records were broken as Galactus arrived in the Fortnite world. Millions of players teamed up to defeat the Marvel supervillain as season 4 concluded yesterday.
Epic Games are famous for including huge in game events which attract many players and fans. Back in April a virtual Travis Scott concert was held which which was watched by 12.3 million concurrent viewers.
Marshmello also did a concert beofre that which was watched by millions. Since the beginning of this season the arrival of Galactus was teased in the game. The Nexus War as it was called included plenty of Marvel heroes like Iron Man and Wolverine joining the game.
The arrival of Galactus and Fortnite players defeating him –
In a tweet Epic asked players to get ready and reach the Helicarrier in game. Galactus soon arrived and shouted, “Beware I hunger” before knocking the Helicarrier into the sky. Iron Man joined the players soon and players were to control an explosive filled Battle Bus. It was to be driven into mouth of Galactus.
Who soon ended up exploding and leaving the island unscathed. In a tweet Fortnite stated that record 15.3 million concurrent players played the game yesterday. Along with more 3 million watching along on YouTube and Twitch.
Fortnite and Galactus: The end of season 4 and what is to come next –
The defeat of Galactus in Fortnite all but concluded the current season of Fortnite. Players saw a glimpse of the main chrachter before the game went down.
The main charachter or Jonesy as he is known was seen lying down probably unconscious on the floor. The background looked like an office floor and Jonesy was wearing a crisp suit. After this the game went down.
Why is Fortnite down and when will it be back? –
Fortnite was down after the Nexus War and conclusion was season 4. Players trying to play the game were seeing a message, ‘Season Five’, and a countdown clock. The clock showed time remaining for the game to be back up and it was around 12 AM ET. It seemed to be a routine maintenance break in the run up to season 5. As of the writing of this article the game is to be back up by 4 AM ET.
