FPL Gameweek 11 : Providing you all the lowdown to help craft your FPL team for the impending gameweek

Initially slated to have gotten underway on Friday, gameweek 11 in the Premier League was shifted to Saturday after Newcastle United’s fixture was truncated owing to an outbreak of Coronavirus. It accorded a day’s time to FPL managers to get their house in order with the matchup between Burnley and Everton on Saturday commencing the gameweek.

Ahead of the latest round of fixtures, we once again dwell into the ideal transfers to make, must have players to indulge in and the most alluring captaincy choices for this set of matches.

Goal-Keeper

Sam Johnstone, 4.5 million

Only the second goal-keeper last weekend to help himself to an over 10 point haul, Sam Johnstone was immaculate against Sheffield United. He refused to be deterred by the carnage of shots unleashed his way as he stood his ground to help guide his team to a much needed 1-0 win.

Defenders

Reece James, 5.2 million

The Chelsea rightback has seen his stock rise by 0.2 million inside the space of only a week owing to his telling form. He was one of Chelsea’s most riveting performers against Tottenham, a player who marauded his way into both attack and defence to make his presence felt all over the park.

Ruben Dias, 5.6 million

Like Kevin de Bruyne, Ruben Dias is fast emerging as an indisputable player for Pep. The CB has settled into the Premier League without any qualms with his expansive skill set seeing him take centrestage in City’s backline.

Jannik Vestergaard, 4.7 million

A slightly dicey pick, Jannik’s affinity for latching onto the headers made him an exceptional pick at his measly price tag of 4.7 million. Southampton are tearing up the league currently and given the side’s ability to control play, Jannik might just end up helping himself to a cleansheet on the day as well.

Midfielders

Kevin de Bruyne, 11.7 million

For all the string of changes Pep made to his side against Burnley, Kevin de Bruyne was once again the constant in the team’s playing 11. An immovable object, Kevin is bound to partake in his side’s encounter against Fulham at the weekend, a clash where he can end up filling his shoes with the goals and assists.

Riyad Mahrez, 8.3 million

Snagging his second hattrick at City, Riyad Mahrez showed what he can do when in full flow. With momentum in his ranks, he can end up making a meal of Fulham’s horrendous defence to emerge as a basketful of points this week.

Mohamed Salah, 12.2 million

He’s not been at his best since recovering from Coronavirus but Salah continues to remain a quiessential part of Liverpool’s playing 11. His left foot has taken on the identity of a juggernaut, one Salah has wielded to spectacular effect to pull off 8 goals and 2 assists.

Hakim Ziyech, 8.3 million

Shut down by Tottenham the last time around, Hakim pulled off what was arguably his worst performance since joining Chelsea. He’s not a player who fails twice though and with Leeds United known to open up spaces at the back, Ziyech can easily end up exploiting them with his meticulous passes.

Strikers

Dominic Calvert-Lewin, 7.9 million

Long gone is the early bounce the plethora of signings had brought about for Everton. The side has gone on a downtick across the last month with the club losing all its formidability.

In dire need of a win, Everton will come out hammer and tongs against Burnley. They are up against a relegation embroiled opposition, a side top scorer Dominic can end up pummelling.

Jamie Vardy, 10.3 million

Just about managing to provide an assist, Vardy’s soiree against Fulham was by no means what many had envisaged it to be. The striker still continues to retain his place in our setup with him up against Sheffield United who are leaking goals left, right and centre this season.

Che Adams, 6 million

Ever since Ings has been ruled out with an injury, Che Adams has taken over the role of spearheading his side’s attack. For the first time in 2020, the striker has reposed the faith his club has earmarked in him with vivid performances.

Captaincy Choice

No one looks a better option than City’s Kevin de Bruyne for gameweek 11.
