Lately, one of the most significant topics of discussion in the gaming world has been the possibility of a sequel to Elden Ring. Ever since the major success of this video game, fans have been seeking an exciting sequel. Recently, Hidetaka Miyazaki hinted at the possibility of Elden Ring 2.
Elden Ring is an action RPG title released in 2022 by FromSoftware. This title became one of the biggest releases of that year, selling over 20 million copies in a year. It eventually won the “Game of the Year” award against games like God of War, Horizon Forbbiden West, and Plaque Tale: Requiem.
While the hype around Elden Ring has calmed down a bit, fans are eagerly looking forward to the upcoming Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. But the extra add-on content might not be the only plan for the game’s future. In fact, FormSoftware president Hidetaka Miyazaki recently hinted at the exciting future for this franchise.

FromSoftware might have plans to take the Elden Ring franchise beyond a DLC. While everyone is waiting for the release of Shadow of the Erdtree, the developers might be working on a possible sequel. It is not just a speculation, as the man responsible for creating this action RPG title’s universe has himself hinted at it.
A Reddit post by AnchovyKing gained a lot of attention from the fans. It claimed that the game’s director Miyazaki mentioned saving content for a future installment in the Elden Ring Future Press Guide. So fans still haven’t experienced everything from this lore, as developers need a possible sequel to unpack it all.

Although it is not enough to conclude that a sequel is in the works, it confirms the game isn’t ending after the upcoming DLC. Some fans are skeptical about a sequel and believe it could be a different project. But it raises the question of why another game will have elements from Elden Ring. Still, some believe FromSoftware games are connected in some manner.
For now, fans should look forward to the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC while waiting for an official announcement related to the sequel.
