Disguised Toast took to Twitter to address the continuous losses his team Disguised (DSG) has been facing in the NA VCT Challengers. Toast acknowledged that esports is one of the toughest things he has done in his life and the back-to-back losses have been hard on the team.

In the tweet, he apologized for the way the team has been performing and said they are only looking to do better in the future. “It is easy to be happy when one is winning, but I also think it is important to show the times when one is at their lows,” he said.

Disguised Toast opens up about DSG’s journey in NA VCT Challengers

After their third loss in NA VCT Challengers on May 3, 2023, Disguised Toast opened up about the kind of stress the players have been going through. He began his tweet by apologizing to his fans about the performance.

“Sorry to all the DSG fans for our performances recently. Esports has definitely been one of the more challenging experiences I’ve faced in my career,” he said.

He continued to applaud his team for trying to give it their best shot during the matches:

“They all message me after each loss apologizing for their performances and it really sucks to see them so defeated. They are each trying their best and that is all anyone can ask from someone.”

Retweeting Toast’s statement, yay, one of the members of DSG also apologized to his fans for not giving them the kind of results they expect from him. He also backed Toast as an owner of an organization that is playing under immense pressure.

“Also, I’m sorry, I had opportunities to potentially close out/extend our games and missed a few key shots that I am fully capable of hitting. toast deserves a win and I will do everything in my power for the next match to be the best I can be,” he said.

Support pours in for DSG and Toast

After reading Toast’s heartfelt apology, a lot of people poured in their support for the team. Players and team owners alike shared their experiences of losing games and feeling low.

One of the most notable comments came from Rushindra Sinha, co-owner of Global Esports, a franchised Valorant team from the Pacific region. He reminded Toast that he is not alone in the journey and many go through the same feelings as him.

“You are not alone, some of the biggest and best esports orgs face these challenges as well. You’re in a much better position than most and you are adapting and learning quickly so dw you’ll be fine,” he said.

More than anything, commenters asked Toast not to lose heart and to enjoy the ride. Even his teammates shared their experiences of playing professionally. DSG steel commented saying “The highs are high and the lows are low in esports… Those that know how to endure will prevail.”

DSG will play their next match on May 12 against M80 and will go against TSM the week after that.
