FIFA 23 Xabi Alonso Cover Star Icon

The long-running history of the renowned soccer game series FIFA is coming to an end. But Electronic Arts wants to make the last few weeks entertaining for fans by releasing the Xabi Alonso Cover Star Icon for FIFA 23 Ultimate Team.

Since introducing the Ultimate Team mode in FIFA games, Electronic Arts has released several exciting FUT cards. But one of the most popular card series among fans has to be the Icons. It is an exclusive promotion celebrating the remarkable careers of different legends of this sport.

The Spaniard Xabi Alonso is one of the legends whom EA awarded many high-rated Icon cards, including the newly added Cover Star Icon. This special FUT card honors the Real Madrid legend’s appearance on the regional edition cover of FIFA 2012.

About the FIFA 23 Xabi Alonso Cover Star Icon

After joining the Icon series, Alonso received three default Icon cards like other soccer legends. But EA later released a Trophy Titan Icon edition, which was his best card until they released the 97-rated Cover Star Icon. It also has some of the most mind-blowing stats.

  • Pace – 93
  • Shooting – 94
  • Passing – 98
  • Dribbling – 95
  • Defending – 95
  • Physicality – 94

This is possibly one of the best cards Electronic Arts has released. All the stats are well-balanced and are above 90. Along with the incredible stats, the Xabi Alonso Cover Star Icon card has 5-Star Skills and a 5-Star Weak Foot.

The Real Madrid Icon’s Cover Star Icon card is a Center Defending Midfielder (CDM) as default. But fans can convert him into a Center Midfielder (CM) to control the midfield and create chances to attack or stop the opposition’s advances.

How to acquire this special FUT card?

Like every other Cover Star Icon SBC that Electronic Arts released so far, it is not going to be easy to obtain. The developers divided the Squad Building Challenge into eight segments related to Alonso’s career. Fans must create the right starting lines to complete those segments while following some requirements.

  • Eleven Rare players should be part of this lineup.
  • The players must be of Bronze quality.

  • Eleven Rare players should be part of this lineup.
  • The players must be of Silver quality.

  • At least one Team of the Week (TOTW), Team of the Season (TOTS), or FUT Champions player should be part of the lineup.
  • The team’s overall rating should be above 88.

League Finesse

  • At least one La Liga player should be part of the lineup.

  • The team’s overall rating should be above 89.

League Legend

  • The team’s overall rating should be above 90.

Top-notch

  • At least one Team of the Week (TOTW), Team of the Season (TOTS), or FUT Champions player should be part of the lineup.
  • The team’s overall rating should be above 90.

To complete this SBC, FIFA 23 fans might end up spending over 588,000 FUT coins in the Transfer Market to create the required fodders. It is a massive amount to spend. So fans can use their spare cards from the collection. In case of a shortage of these two resources, fans can participate in FUT matches to earn more.

That’s all fans need to know about the Xabi Alonso Cover Star Icon card. But they should remember to obtain the card before EA Sports removes the SBC. If you have acquired the card, click here to know about the Fernando Torres Titan Trophy Icon SBC.
