Gareth Bale rescues Real Madrid with a brace and gets sent off in the last minute against Villareal in their La Liga clash at the Estadio de la Cerámica.
It was only a few weeks back when Zinedine Zidane caused an uproar. The Frenchman had openly acknowledged that Gareth Bale was not part of his plans and he was hoping to part ways with him. Adding that the sooner he would move the better. Tonight however, the Welsh Winger proved why Real Madrid splashed on him when they did.

Real Madrid started the match against Villareal on the backfoot, conceding a goal in the 12th minute. Howeever, Gareth Bale had other ideas as he tapped in a Dani Carvajal cut back just before half-time to level the scores.
After half-time, the Royal whites looked much more composed. However, shoddy play meant that Valencia had taken the lead by the 75th minute. With very little time left in the match, it seemed that Real Madrid were on their way to their first loss of the season.

However, Bale came through once again to bail them out scoring the equaliser once again in the 86th minute. The man that Zidane had tried so hard to rid himself off played saviour for his team.

Unfortunately for Bale though, the match ended on a sour note for him as he received two yellow cards in a span of a couple of minutes to receive his marching orders.

This is just plain #stupid on behalf of Gareth Bale. He had a great match only to be ruined by TWO yellows in stoppage time which led to a #RedCard. You can’t come in with a high boot like this EVER, easy yellow.#LaLiga #Bale #RealMadrid #VAR #Real #Madrid #GarethBale #Futbol pic.twitter.com/gAH4Ux5xO6

A yellow in the 92nd and the 94th minute took him out of the match. Real Madrid will consider themselves lucky to come home with a point. However, they will be disappointed with their result.
This is now their second straight draw after winning their opening match and Zidane will hope his men pull their scoks up for their next match against Levante. After all, he won’t have Bale to fall back on this time.
