Genshin Impact Albedo: Meet Albedo, a possible new character and master alchemist of Teyvat, whose presence is subtly hinted at many places in-game.
Few games have had more easter eggs found over the last 1 month than Genshin Impact. Genshin Impact, the viral new gacha action RPG by miHoYo, has become a massively viral game over the last month. And as with any popular game, impatient fans are always pumped up for new content. This has led to an interesting set of small but telling discoveries over the last fortnight or so, about a curious new character who goes by the name of Albedo.

Now, before we begin to elaborate on who and what Albedo is all about, here’s a disclaimer. Most of the info in this article is speculative. We have, of course, logically deduced it from sources throughout the Genshin community.
So, these are not mere punches through open air. However, miHoYo has officially not announced any of what we’re about to mention. Therefore, we should consider the info strictly unofficial and unconfirmed.
Genshin Impact Albedo: The master to Sucrose.
The first major hint we get regarding the presence of this new character is in the description of Sucrose. Sucrose, in Genshin Impact, is a 4-star anemo character with catalyst abilities. And she’s introduced to us in-game as “assistant to Albedo”. The statement reads, “Attached to the Knights of Favonius as an assistant to Albedo, her area of focus is ‘bio-alchemy’.”
This of course makes Albedo a master Alchemist and so an entity of great talents. However, there are mentions of many such names in the game’s lore. And most of them are not playable characters. So, it’d be absurd to base our prediction merely on this piece of info. Therefore, fret not & read on.
A Lisa voiceover: Another subtle hint.
The next piece of info regarding this curious master Alchemist, Albedo, reaches us through a voiceover in Lisa’s profile. In the voiceover, which was noted by an inquisitive Redditor, Lisa refers to Albedo as a “great Alchemist” and “a cute child like Aether”. For those of you who do not know Aether is, he is one of the two protagonists of the Genshin Impact’s story. So, for those of you who’ve chosen to play as a male, he’s you, the traveller. And if you’ve chosen to play as a female, he’s the brother you’re looking for.
This piece of info matches up to the initial bit in Sucrose’s description. So, one thing is for certain, he’s a great Alchemist and he’s very young.
A major leak & character build.
So, by now, we have become sure that Albedo is a major figure in the Genshin lore for certain. But what comes next takes things a step beyond. There are some major leaks all over the internet with detailed Albedo character builds! And what’s more, these leaked files also contain info about other newly released characters too. And all of that info matches up!
Therefore, since info about some of the characters in those leaks is already correct, Albedo’s being a future new character becomes a major possibility. The possible leak we’re talking of with the character build is just below.

Genshin Impact Albedo: A part of a future update?
Now that we have realised how Albedo, as a new character, could be a real possibility, let’s look at how he/she may be brought into the game.
The most simple way would be as a story character in the latter part of the storyline. In doing so, the devs can also attach Albedo to a possible new region or city in the game. Teyvat has only one major city so far. And, speculations about miHoYo adding at least one more are rife. miHoYo has also officially announced that a new region will be coming to the game in late December. So, it wouldn’t be surprising to find Albedo as a part of that update patch. Another possible way would be through Timaeus, the alchemist of Mondstadt, as a story quest.
Whatever the manner be, the “great” master Alchemist of Teyvat, who is also childish, sure sounds like a spicy creation. Albedo also sounds like someone who’d be great fun to play. So, fingers crossed, let’s hope he does make it to the game in the future.
