genshin impact update

Amidst Genshin Impact update rumours rife through the entire community, miHoYo clears the air and conducts a big Q&A session for its fans.

Genshin Impact has been a huge hit in the online gaming community. With 17 million downloads inside the first 4 days and now the tag of Play Station’s game of the month, there’s no doubt the game has managed to impress quite a few people. However, amidst great hype, come big rumours. And the sheer amount of fake news that has been flooding the community over the last few days has been massive. So, the devs at miHoYo finally decided to speak up.

Official News about Future Genshin Impact Update: Don’t believe all you hear!

Naturally, given all the fake news out there, the game devs were concerned about bad publicity. So, they decided to come clean and reveal their future plans on the miHoYo community forum. You can have a look at their response here first hand. However, we have made it much more short and simple below.

As per miHoYo, all future updates will come at an interval of 6 weeks and if possible, on Wednesdays. So, that means the next 3 updates will be live from 11th Nov, 23rd Dec and sometime in Feb 2021. They did not mention the date of the last one. But it’s safe to presume that even those mentioned for Nov & Dev are subject to change. All 3 of these updates will contain a major event each. But, along with that the Dec update will also add a whole new region to the game! The Unreconciled Stars event is due for Nov, the Dragonspine region for Dec & the Lantern Rite event series for Feb.

miHoYo’s Q&A Event.

Shortly after the update info was put up on the forums, a brief summary of a Q&A event was also posted. In the Q&A, the miHoYo Dev Team answered to some FAQs in an interview. Their response to almost all the questions about feature requests was positive. However, given how new the game is, the dev team must also be pumped to make it even better. So, that explains the agreeable, “yes, sir we’ll fix it!” attitude. Since the gist of the Q&A, for the most part, was whether features will or will not be added, we’re simply listing the possible new features that will come to the game. You can have a look at the whole post here.

  1. A better Co-op mode.
  2. An Inventory lock system.
  3. An in-game wiki/guide for monsters and books
  4. An oculus detector to locate all the Oculi! This is huge!
  5. A quick portion or food eating feature. So that you can heal up instantly in battles.
  6. The option to disable the camera auto-follow.
  7. The Removal of some mechanic bugs. One, electro charge effect bug will fix itself. Two, absurdly low damage on grass bug fix itself.
  8. Refund system of Excess exp as Enchantment ore. How kind and lovely!
  9. Addition of a report button to check misbehaviour.
