God of War Ragnarok: Best Skills to Equip for the Blades of Chaos

We have compiled an Extensive List of the Top 5 Skills to Equip for the Blades of Chaos in God of War Ragnarok. Details Below.

Unlike the Leviathan Axe, blades of Chaos can hurt several enemies while Kratos swings them. However, the damage isn’t concentrated and is weaker than the Axe. These skills are going to help you close the gap. They will help you take on multiple foes simultaneously and deal single-target damage if used correctly. Let us get into the list.

We are considering all skill levels while making this list. Therefore, most of these will be helpful for endgame content and even after.

Note – We will make a separate list for Runic Attacks for the Blades later.

#5 – Immolation and Furious Immolation

Both skills cash out in terms of dealing with Fire Damage. The Blades of Chaos do successful ranged hits while keeping Kratos away from enemies. While doing those hits, Kratos builds up a burn effect with Immolation and then releases it all at once using Furious Immolation. In combination, this two help engage large chunks of enemies and deal with high DPS.

#4 – Rising Chaos

If you have played the older God of War Games, set in the Greek Pantheon, you should remember when we held the Triangle button and launched our enemies in the air, right? This skill does precisely that, plus it has a bigger hitbox than the previous games. Stop enemies while they charge at you and do your combos with them; what else do you want?

#3 – Evasive Embers

Avoiding taking damage is also a critical part of gameplay in this game. That is why we have put this skill at the No.3 spot. Evasive Embers do damage while dodging backwards. You can use this skill to create space while surrounded and continue hitting them with your long-range combos. It is the best skill to use when you are in a pinch.

#2 – Scorched Earth and Scorched Sweep

Both of these combined can deal humongous damage to enemies. The Scorched Earth starts as a wave attack, clanging and banging multiple enemies simultaneously. However, you get Scorched Sweep when this skill is upgraded to the max. These skills are invaluable in the endgame and will help you deal massive damage to enemies. Try it out for yourself; we won’t spoil you on what numbers the attack does!

#1- Hyperion Grapple

Remember God of War 3? This is an upgraded version of the grapple that you could do with the Blades of Exile. The Hyperion Grapple helps get Guaranteed Stun Damage on enemies, which you can finish with your R3. Simple yet effective, yes?

This was our list. Would you put some other skills on it, or would you change the orders around? Let us know in the comments below! Wanna upgrade the Blades of Chaos to Max? Check out the guide below!
