As previously reported, Goldberg has been slated to appear on the 25th anniversary of RAW alongside several big names such as The Undertaker, Shawn Micheals and Kevin Nash.
Apart from that, Goldberg is also speculated to lead the class of 2018, WWE Hall Of Fame during the WrestleMania weekend.
Recent reports suggest that Goldberg’s appearance won’t be limited to a non-wrestling role; he is expected to have another match at “The grandest stage of them all”. The opponent for Goldberg is not expected to be someone on the roster as of now.
WWE Officials have apparently decided that “The Animal” is the right man to face Goldberg. As previously reported, Batista had revealed his desired to return back to the WWE full time, it is being speculated that the talks have gone smooth so far between the company and Batista.
Goldberg’s last run with the company began at Survivor Series where he silenced the WWE Universe by defeating “The Beast Incarnate” Brock Lesnar in under 2 minutes. He further appeared at the Royal Rumble and proceeded to win the Universal Championship at Fastlane.
His last appearance came at WrestleMania 33, where he lost his Universal Championship to Brock Lesnar and proceeded to thank the WWE Universe on the post WrestleMania RAW. Goldberg had revealed to the WWE Officials that he is open for one more run with the company.
Batista’s last run in the company saw him take part in the main event of Wrestlemania 30. Batista had won the Royal Rumble earlier that year and was slated to face Randy Orton for the title.
But Daniel Bryan’s incredible momentum and support from the fans saw him propelled to the main event scene and eventually win the title in one of the most emotionally charged Wrestlemania moments of all time.
The possibility of Batista facing Goldberg may very well sell tickets at this year’s Wrestlemania and could certainly be a direction that WWE would like to go in.
