Harbhajan Singh warns Shreyas Iyer of mankading

Harbhajan Singh warns Shreyas Iyer of mankading: Chennai Super Kings veteran off-spinner seemed to take a leaf out of Ravi Ashwin’s book.

During the fifth match of the ongoing 12th season of the Indian Premier League between Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings at Delhi, Chennai Super Kings off-spinner Harbhajan Singh gave the impression of warning Delhi Capitals captain Shreyas Iyer for a potential mankading dismissal.

It happened after the third delivery of Harbhajan’s third over when he was in his follow through but didn’t end up bowling. The veteran spinner was then seen passing a glare to non-striker Iyer, who perhaps was outside his crease.

While Harbhajan didn’t attempt to dislodge the bails, his potential warning to Iyer spoke highly about his stance on the dismissal.

After Kings XI Punjab Ravichandran Ashwin affected a mankading dismissal against Rajasthan Royals wicket-keeper batsman Jos Buttler last night, a furore was witnessed on social media platform Twitter.

Coming on the back of a ‘Man of the Match‘ performance in Super Kings’s first match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Harbhajan registered another economical spell on a wicket which was supporting the spinners. Given the slow nature of the surface, Harbhajan conceded 20 runs in his first three overs.

Capitals wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant hitting Harbhajan for a six on the last ball of his spell saw him eventually giving away 30 runs in his four overs.

Earlier, Iyer won the toss and chose to bat. While DC included veteran leg-spinner Amit Mishra for fast bowler Trent Boult, CSK entered the field with an unchanged playing XI.
