Hardik Pandya on comeback

Hardik Pandya on comeback: Injured Indian all-rounder was recently vocal about his comeback to the Indian team.

To the likes of a plethora of fans of the Indian cricket team, injured Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has started to both bowl and bat during the recovery phase of the lower back injury which he sustained during the Asia Cup in September. The 25-year old cricketer posted videos of him practicing on his Twitter account.

“I’m trying hard to be fit for the ODI series against Australia to start in January 2019. To get back to full fitness, I’m going through rigorous bowling sessions in Mumbai. I have just started bowling after 60 days. Once I bowl a few overs in the ODIs, I think I should be on the right track,” said Hardik.

In Pandya’s absence, his elder brother Krunal was seen making his national debut. With the latter part of the T20I series against Australia, Hardik expressed happiness at watching his brother don the India cap. “I’m very happy to see Krunal representing the country Down Under,” Hardik said about his brother.

Talking of India’s tour of Australia, Pandya was affirmative about the Indian team’s chances in Australia, not underestimating the opposition either. “We are a formidable side and we should give a good fight to Australia who I believe are very strong in their own backyard. I am hoping for an exciting series,” Pandya added.

A regular member of the Indian team across formats, Pandya wasn’t missed much since his absence due to the matches being conducted in the Indian conditions. With the T20I leg of India’s tour of Australia beginning today, the Indian team’s combination without the fast-bowling all-rounder is unequivocally affected.
