Jurgen Klopp Sympathises With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Over Gruelling Premier League Schedule: Manchester United are slated to step out in three Premier League encounters across the next week

When Manchester United’s contest with Liverpool was postponed last week, the Premier League decided it was prudent to organise the affair in gameweek 35. The new fixture scheduling puts Manchester United in a conundrum with the club already stepping out twice in the upcoming round of fixtures.

The newly arranged tie will now see the club compete thrice in the Premier League across the next week. Adding the club’s Europa League semi-final with AS Roma sees the side contest four clashes across the next ten days.

Klopp Supports Ole

Speaking about the fixture congestion, Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp lent his support to Manchester United. Slated to take on the club in midweek later next week, Klopp spoke about how he had full sympathy for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

“We were informed about the process, but nothing to do with it really,” Klopp said. “Yes, I feel sympathy for him [Solskjaer], it’s not how it should be.

“But it’s not good for us as well, to be honest. I would’ve preferred to play the game last week.

“Now we have five games in the last two weeks so that’s not really cool as well. But that’s how it is. Nothing to complain about or whatever, it’s just the situation.”

The hastily organised contest also sees Liverpool feature twice in gameweek 35. The club will be facing off with Southampton at the weekend before eventually making the trip to Manchester United.

Both the encounters are must win clashes for Liverpool as the club looks to salvage its season. Anything barring six points in these matches would all but put to bed any flickering hope the club has of making it to the top 4 of the Premier League.

The club is currently sitting in lowly 7th place after drawing its last two encounters in the league.
