With 2020 being the year of the ICC T20 World Cup, all the teams partaking in the prestigious tournament are set to get their preparations for the competition underway. And two such sides are India are Sri Lanka with the two Asian teams set to battle it out in the middle starting today in a three match T20 series.

For the home side, the last couple of months have once again seen the gargantuan unit stamp its authority on the cricketing fraternity. Be it South Africa, Bangladesh or West Indies, the Indian side have trounced everyone whose comes in its way to set down a real statement of intent with pleasing to the eye displays.

And when they take on Sri Lanka at home, its only befitting that the behemoth country make an advent into the series as outright favourites. They are up against a side which was routed 3-0 by Australia in their foregone T20 outing, a Sri Lankan side which has traditionally failed to outdo India in any format of the game.

Probable Winner

Picking out a winner from this encounter was an extremely easy proposition. India are one of the staunchest sides at home and with Sri Lanka never having managed to have defeated them in a series in more than 10 years now, we see India keeping that sparkling record intact today as well.

Pitch Conditions And Toss

A wicket which will keep everyone interested, the team winning the toss is set to come out and favour chasing over here. It’s down to rain in the air, something which is set to lash the track at some point of the day which will see the new ball talk in the hands of the pacers early on.

Wicket-Keeper for IND vs SL Dream11

He endured a howler of a time in the cricketing fraternity all across the course of 2019, showings which saw the wicket-keeper being lambasted for his failure to put a prize on his wicket. However, Rishabh Pant did offer glimpses of his clean hitting brand of cricket against West Indies and up against a lapses filled Sri Lanka bowling unit, we envision him regaining his long lost touch.

In a Sri Lanka batting unit which has failed to muster up any kind of meaningful displays in Australia, Kusal Perera showed why he’s such a stalwart in the side. He put on 57 runs for his side in the final T20 encounter against Australia, a knock which sees him earn a spot in our Dream 11 side for the day.

Note: We’ll be bringing Niroshan Dickwella into our side instead of Ravindra Jadeja, as Dickwella bats at the top of the order and will have a better chance of making an impact

Batsmen for IND vs SL Dream11

Smashing his way to 70 runs in a mere 49 balls against West Indies in the third T20 against the side, Indian captain Virat Kohli was always going to be an instant selection for us for this one. He’s the mainstay of his side’s batting unit, a player who has become a gargantuan name in the cricketing fraternity.

After scoring 91 runs against West Indies in the same match, KL Rahul comes into our side for this one. The player has struggled to get going on tracks where the ball misbehaves under tricky batting conditions but Sri Lanka’s bowling unit has been guilty of shipping away too many runs recently and Rahul could easily benefit from that.

Shreyas Iyer was someone who was heavily considered by us in place of Rahul. He’s someone who has come up with good runs off late to wipe away India’s qualms of the number 4 batting slot and we expect him to keep cantering his way to a good performance today as well and can be picked up especially if Indian bat first.

Shikhar Dhawan is making a return from injury and was laggard prior to that to see us leave him out. Elsewhere, the visiting side find representation in the form of opener Kusal Mendis with the player having some strong innings in Asian conditions.

All-Rounders for IND vs SL Dream11

Isuru Iduna was in stealer touch in the Mzansi Super League, a league where he not only came up with wickets at regular intervals but was equally good with the bat as well with some pivotal cameos for his side. The second choice was a pick between Dasun Shanaka and Dhananjaya with Dasun’s brand of fast bowling tilting the balance in his favour on a wicket which will see the ball deviate in his hands.

Elsewhere, India will find representation in the form of Ravindra Jadeja, a player who has become an integral component of India’s side owing to his ability to incorporate his skill set with both the bat and ball.

Now, with a few left handers in the Sri Lanka top order, if you want to leave out Ravindra Jadeja, you can get in the hard hitting Niroshan Dickwella into your team, as he bats at the top of the order and thus could have a better chance of making an impact in a T20 game.

Bowlers for IND vs SL Dream11

An all India bowling unit will be representing us on the day. The side have been electric at home and up against a wavering Sri Lanka bating unit, we see the team sending down a well rounded performance to snare wickets at regular intervals.

We begin with Jasprit Bumrah with the quick returning to the Indian side after being out owing to an injury in what will be a massive boost to the side. His ability to move the ball both ways and send down yorkers in the death overs make him a complete and versatile pacer, someone who is a must have pick for this one.

Navdeep Saini has struggled for form recently but the player will thrive in pace conducive conditions to see us rope him in as well. Elsewhere, with Kuldeep Yadav playing against West Indies, Yuzvendra Chahal should be picked up for this series to see the legspinner being made our final pick for this one owing to his ability to entice the bats into going for the false shots.

In case Chahal misses out, with two wickets in the last T20 against West Indies, Kuldeep Yadav will take up his place in our side.

Captain: Virat Kohli

Vice-Captain: Jasprit Bumrah(if India bowl first)/KL Rahul(if India bat first)
