IND vs WI Dream11 Team and Match Report: Yet again West Indies found touring India ahead of the IPL auction.
With less than a year for the T/20 World Cup, both teams would be looking to play their full strengths as a part of their preparations. Unexpectedly the World Champions walk into the bilateral series after losing to Afghanistan; whereas India came back to clinch the series against Bangladesh. India announced a staggering five changes to the squad after the Bangladesh series.
Return of Mohammed Shami and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar has boosted the Indian bowling line up which appeared a bit weak against Bangladesh. Shikhar Dhawan’s absence would open up gates for KL Rahul to cement his position as an opener ahead of the T/20 World Cup. Sanju Samson’s inclusion in the squad has definitely set alarms for Rishabh Pant to justify his position. Manish Pandey’s form in the domestic T/20 has earned him his position back in the Indian squad.
A T/20 team from the Caribbeans will always be competitive against any opponent. This West Indies side under Kieron Pollard features some rising talent from the Caibbean Nations. Fabian Allen and Dinesh Ramdin were included in the squad to strengthen the batting unit. An unwanted ban would keep Nichola Puran out of the series opener. West Indies would be heavily dependent on the likes of Evin Lewis, Lendl Simmons and Brandon King to put runs on the board, whereas Shimron Hetmyer and Kieron Pollard will take care of power hitting.
Pitch Conditions and Toss
Hyderabad wicket by its nature would provide some assistance to the bowlers as the bowl would grip a bit throughout the 40 overs. Both teams might fancy playing minimum two spinners.
The series opener at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad would put both batting and bowling departments to test. In Hyderabad the average first innings score is 175 runs, whereas the average second innings score is 142 runs, teams batting first have won 4 matches and teams chasing have won 3 games. Contrarily the IPL’s 2019 edition saw sides winning the toss opt to bat only on 2 occasions.
In my opinion Team winning the toss should bat first, but can change their minds considering the dew factor.

IND vs WI Dream11 Wicket Keeper
Since Nicholas Pooran is missing the 1st T/20, Rishabh Pant, makes it in my team, as I consider him a better T/20 batsmen than his counterpart Denesh Ramdin who is expected to make a comeback to the playing XI.
IND vs WI Dream11 Batsmen
Lendl Simmons and Evin Lewis have always given West Indies a good opening start especially playing against India in India. The two openers are an obvious choice for me. Looking at the nature of the wicket I strongly feel that Rohit Sharma might struggle in the opening T/20.
Virat Kohli’s consistency in all three formats demands his selection in any team, therefore my Dream 11 team is no exception to it. Shreyas Iyer lately has been in good form for India and his domestic team. This might be the best opportunity for KL Rahul to cement his spot as an opening batsman.
IND vs WI Dream11 All-Rounders
The wicket is expected to provide assistance to the spinners, Ravindra Jadeja becomes a key player in such circumstances. Jadeja offers a complete package of lethal bowling, electric fielding and brisk batting. Kieron Pollard’s power hitting is not new to any one in India, when Polly gets going even the Indian crowd backs him.
IND vs WI Dream11 Bowlers
A wicket that offers assistance to bowlers is a rare sight in India, since the bowl is expected to grip I feel spinners will have a great impact on the result of the game. More than batsmen it the bowlers who will win the game.
Yuzvendra Chahl and Deepak Chahar’s ability to pick up big wickets demands their selection.
Khary Pierre with his left-arm orthodox bowling has consistent ability to deceive batsmen, I am expecting him to pick minimum 2 Indian wickets.
IND vs WI Dream 11 Power Players
On a testing wicket I feel Virat Kohli is a class apart from the rest, he also has the ability to score runs in a quick succession. I would select him as the captain of my team. Kieron Pollard would be my Vice Captain, only because of his power hitting ability.
