Indian batsman Rohit Sharma is primed to have a huge 2018, as the Mumbai star looks to cement his position in the test side this year.

Rohit had a landmark 2017, as the classy opener underlined his status as one of the best batsmen in the world right now.

It was by far the best year of his career, as Rohit book ended the year by becoming the first man to score three double centuries in ODIs.

He then scored a 35-ball century against Sri Lanka, as he tied David Miller for the fastest T20I century.

The only blot on Rohit’s career has been his inconsistency in the longest format of the game. For someone with his class and technique, Rohit needs to make the most out of his opportunities in the test format and he will try to do just that in 2018.

With tours to South Africa, England and Australia lined up this year, this Indian team understands the importance of the coming year.

After a sensational home season in 2017, Virat Kohli’s men will now travel abroad and try and create history on foreign soil.

They will start their much anticipated series against South Africa in a couple of days, as India will face South Africa at Newlands on January 5th.

The Indian team are currently practicing in Cape Town, as they prepare to become the first Indian side to win a series on South African soil.

Rohit, who is expected to start in the first test, was seen sweating it out at the nets, as the Hitman is expected to be a crucial member of the Indian batting lineup in this series.
