Gulbadin Naib

Afghanistan have been the Cinderella story of Cricket. Rising from obscurity to play in a cricket world cup and eventually test cricket. The fledgling cricket nation have done it all and in rather quick time. However, the reign of Gulbadin Naib threatened to be their undoing.

Naib earned much mockery from the internet for his decision to bowl himself in the 49th over against Pakistan. Until that point, both sides looked to have an equal chance at landing the win. However, his tactical error handed Pakistan the victory.

Gulbadin Naib was not a poor skipper because of his poor skills as a tactician but also for his inability to shield his players during tough times. Instead of standing by his boys, Naib threw his teammates under the bus by criticising them for their poor performance. This behaviour earned him a lot of trolls and a place in the International XI of most trolled Asian cricketers. It also led to his removal from the post of captaincy.

Hasan Ali

Hasan Ali is another case of what could have been. The fast bowler was lauded as the next pace sensation from Pakistan after he helped his side beat India and clinch the 2017 Champions Trophy. Unfortunately, Ali would never hit the same heights again and was eventually dropped from the side.

Ali has attracted troll for various on and off-field reasons. One of his most infamous moments had him visit the Wagah border and do his trademark wicket taking celebration. This did not go down well with the Indian contingent.

His attempt at making good with the Indian fans when he congratulated them during the World Cup earned him the ire of Pakistani fans. He became a laughing stock after injuring himself while doing his celebration it was only made worse after his ‘’Last bachelor night” post.

Taskin Ahmed

Taskin Ahmed has the potential to go down as a Bangladeshi great. His ability to clock well over 90 mph consistently makes him godsend for Bangladesh Cricket. However, he has been injured and inconsistent a little too much for his or BCB’s liking.

Taskin first made headlines when a photo of him carrying the decapitated head of MS Dhoni began doing the rounds in Social Media. The trolls have been by his side ever since and have used any and every reason possible to troll him.

He has been trolled for so much including his hairstyle and tragically even for his marriage. When the youngster decided to get married, instead of blessings, his timeline was flooded with lewd messages asking him to concentrate on his bowling rather than shifting his focus on family planning.

This concludes our list of International XI of most trolled Asian cricketers.
