Rajasthan Royals invite Tim Paine

Rajasthan Royals invite Tim Paine: The IPL franchise has invited Australia’s Test captain as a ‘special guest’ for IPL 2019.

IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals have invited Australia Test captain Tim Paine to be their special guest for their match against Mumbai Indians in the 12th season of the Indian Premier League.

The invitation came as an upshot of India wicket-keeper meeting Paine’s wife and kids during the Indian team’s visit to the Australian Prime Minister. The photo of Pant holding Paine’s kids has gone viral across various social media platforms since yesterday.

The banter was initiated by Paine during India’s first innings in the third Test at Melbourne when he sledged India middle-order batsman Rohit Sharma. “Bit of a toss-up between Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai [Indians]. If Rohit hits a six here, I’m going Mumbai,” Paine was quoted as saying on the stump mic.

“If he [Paine] gets a hundred here, I will put in a word about him to my boss at Mumbai Indians and we’ll buy him. Looks like he’s a fan of Mumbai,” Sharma had jokingly said to India vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane as a reply for Paine.

After all this, Mumbai Indians got into the act, reminding Paine that he has two more chances to score a hundred.

Having watched Pant complete his part of the job, there were calls of Pant playing his part by supporting the Royals.

The match which the Royals have mentioned above is the 21st match of the 11th season of the IPL played earlier last year. In a 168-run chase, Royals required 43 runs from the last three overs with half their side back in the pavilion. All-rounder Krishnappa Gowtham scored 33* (11) with the help of four fours and two sixes to win the match for the hosts.
