IPL 2018 Fantasy Guide: Fantasy Tips for DD vs KXIP

Cricket returns to the Kotla tonight, providing the Daredevils with some solace after a string of away games in the IPL.

Delhi had a great auction this time round, recruiting a balanced side and like-for-like replacements a plenty. However, auction performance doesn’t really translate into on-field performance, a reality that has struck Delhi hard.

But a homecoming could probably appease a few of those jitters that would have settled into the camp after a pained start to the 2018 campaign.

Gambhir is confident of turning things around and so he should be as he has done so in the past with the Knight Riders. But will the Delhi curse strangle GG down or will he come out with flying colours? We’ll have to wait and see.

Kings XI are on a rampage, thanks to the Universe Boss making his presence felt in the IPL. It’s funny how people always try to phase Gayle out of the IPL, but he comes back and owns it like he was always meant to.

Ashwin has led KXIP admirably this season, getting the combination right from the outset and using his bowlers to perfection in the field.

The Indian batsmen have performed brilliantly well for KXIP, with KL Rahul emerging as one of the players of the tournament at this stage. Karun Nair and Mayank Agarwal have played a decent role until now as well.

Let’s get to business now!

Now, I already have Rishabh Pant, Rahul Tewatia, KL Rahul and Chris Gayle in my side for this game.

I have been getting a few messages regarding my team being a little different than what was mentioned in the article. The reason for that is that I did not draft in ABD during RCB’s game against DD, as Manan Vohra was drafted into that opening slot and rain was forecasted for the latter half of the game.

Hopefully you guys did what was mentioned in the article and basked in the glory of that wonderful ABD knock.

Now, I think I have the required ammunition for this game already in my side and hence won’t be making any transfers for this game.

If you do have 45+ transfers in the bag, I would suggest that you get in Maxwell, if DD bat first, one because of his X-factor, two because he is a due a big one and three because he gets to bowl two overs of spin as well.

Chris Morris, Jason Roy and Mujeeb ur Rehman could be the other three players in your consideration set.

Chris Morris would be the safest option, as he has dual scoring abilities, followed by Mujeeb, who should get at least one wicket with his mystery bowling.

If you don’t have Shreyas Iyer or Rishabh Pant in your side and want to get in either one of them, always opt for Pant, as his wicketkeeping would provide you with a double scoring opportunity.

With Rahul Tewatia already in my side, I’ll get in Krunal Pandya in from the next game, as I don’t think Shahbaz Nadeem or Ankit Rajpoot will be able to fetch as many points as Krunal. This way I can go in for one from Siddharth Kaul, Hooda or Ishan Kishan in my side from tomorrow’s game.

I might get in Maxwell, if the pitch report suggests that it is going to be a belter and DD get to bat first on it, but for now, he stays out of my team.

Now, I already have Mujeeb, KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal and Rishabh Pant in my side for this game.

Do we leave out Chris Gayle because of the law of averages? I don’t think we should. We have already paid the penalty for it once and I wouldn’t want to repeat that same mistake again. Get him in!

Andrew Tye and Glenn Maxwell would be the two other players in my consideration set for this game. Now, while Tye is the safer option, the fact that Maxwell gets to bowl 2 overs of spin tilt the tables in his favour a little bit.

You can opt out of both transfers if you want to save a few for the latter stages, but if you want to be a little adventurous, go in for Maxwell tonight, he might just tee off. But do so only if DD bat first, otherwise he might be left with a little too much to do coming in at number 5.

Note: I wouldn’t be able to bring in Maxwell, as surprisingly he hasn’t been listed down as an all-rounder

Batting Powerplayer- KL Rahul

Bowling Powerplayer- Mujeeb
