Fantasy Tips for SRH vs MI

Rain curtailed games always get on your nerves. When you have planned an evening of watching some good cricket and basking in the glory of the Fantasy points that your chosen players would earn, it hurts when it is all washed away by giant water droplets.

But that is the nature of the game(I am referring to fantasy cricket here) that you are getting into, it is dynamic, it is heart wrenching but it is satisfying at the end of the day.

Now, with one rain-curtailed match so early in the season, you could be tempted into altering your strategy around the rain a lot. While it is wise to take into account the weather report before every game, don’t alter your strategy too much around it.

What you can do if there is some rain out is opt for just top order batsman(top 3) and leave out the all rounders and focus on just the specialists.

Let’s get to business now!

IPL Fantasy League(Fantasy Tips for SRH vs MI)

Transfer out: Kuldeep Yadav, Rahul Tripathi, Ben Stokes

Transfer in: Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Jasprit Bumrah/Bhuvi

Now, I already have Shikhar Dhawan and Siddarth Kaul in my team for this game.

SRH and MI both play twice in the next 4 games and thus you should get in at least one player in from both teams into your side.

Rohit Sharma, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, Evin Lewis and Rashid Khan are in my consideration set for this game.

Rashid Khan has been a revelation in T20 cricket and has proved himself across the globe playing in different leagues and getting that much needed exposure in order to succeed in the direst of circumstances.

The Afghan bowler bowled beautifully in the first game against the Royals, taking charge of those middle overs and strangling the batsmen for runs.

While he could muster just one wicket, he was far more threatening than what his figures(4-0-23-1) suggest.

The Mumbai middle order isn’t the most experienced and Rashid Khan could find himself running through it. Get him in!

Due to the paucity of transfers I will be able to get in only one from Bumrah and Bhuvi. I’ll stick to my strategy of getting in the bowler that bowls in the first innings, as that gives me a guarantee that he will get to use his death bowling skills for sure.

For the final transfer, which is again a schedule dominated one, I get in Rohit Sharma. I would have left him out, had MI not been playing twice in 3 games, but with that schedule in place, it’s too big a risk to not bring Sharma in.

Also, the fact that he is opening the batting for Mumbai is a big plus as that gives him ample time and opportunity to express himself and get that big score which will help us take that leap of faith in the Fantasy world.

I leave out Evin Lewis as Rohit Sharma seems to be the more trustworthy option at this point.

For the uncapped player, I get in Ishan Kishan, who bats at number 3 and keeps wickets for the Mumbai Indians. His dual scoring opportunities make him a better pick than all the other available options at the same price. (Note: Krunal Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav are worth 850,000).

Match Powerplayer: Jasprit Bumrah/Bhuvaneshwar Kumar(whoever bowls first)

2nd Innings Powerplayer: Shikhar Dhawan/Rohit Sharma(whoever bats second)

Fandromeda(Fantasy Tips for SRH vs MI)

Now, I already have Bhuvi, Rashid Khan and Ishan Kishan in my team for this game.

I have the same consideration set for the Fandromeda league as well.

With both Mumbai and Sunrisers playing twice in 4 games, I am tempted to bring in 4 players from this game.

Jasprit Bumrah and Rohit Sharma walk into my XI because of the reasons already mentioned in the IPL Fantasy League section.

Shikhar Dhawan was already present in my IPL Fantasy  team and I’ll bring him into my Fandromeda team as well. Dhawan looked in sublime touch in the first game against RR, scoring a brilliant half century.

With the kind of form that he has been in with the Indian team, it is very tough to look beyond him. Get him, he is sure to give at least 80 points before you have to transfer him out.

I wanted to get in Evin Lewis for this game as well, but I will have to transfer out one of the two DD foreign players. Now, if you have a lot of transfers in your bag(greater than 65), get him in, else hope against hope that he doesn’t come good in both MI games.

Batting Powerplayer: Shikhar Dhawan/Rohit Sharam(whoever bats second)

Bowling Powerplayer: Jasprit Bumrah/Bhuvi(whoever bowls first)

Happy Team picking!
