Ivan Rakitic Transfer: Manchester United show interest as Barcelona name price tag for Blaugrana star

Ivan Rakitic Transfer: Ivan Rakitic is available for €55 million as Manchester United show interest.

Manchester United could head into the next season without their record signing Paul Pogba. The French International is alluring interest from Real Madrid, and the deal could well happen if a bid is submitted.

Irrespective of his future, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is determined to strengthen the midfield department which has not hit the heights. Fred and Andreas Pereira have been underwhelming along with Paul Pogba. Ander Herrera looked in a real groove under Solskjaer, but his contract expires in the summer window. He is heading to Paris Saint Germain, as per many reports.

Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic is reportedly up for grabs in the summer transfer window, according to Duncan Castles. The Croat will fall behind the pecking order of 75-million new signing Frenkie De Jong, who will integrate with his teammates in the pre-season camp.

The Blaugrana are also plotting moves for Matthijs De Ligt and Antoine Griezmann. The duo will combinedly cost 200 million as the club goes in search of sales. Ernesto Valverde is ready to let him leave for a transfer fee of €55 million, but they could be hit the age factor. As Rakitic turns 31  before the kickstart of the new season, many teams will ponder about that transfer fee.

Manchester United are keen to lure him to Old Trafford, but they are not willing to match Barcelona’s demands. The Red Devils are desiring for his signature because of his usage in both defensive and attacking areas. Despite possessing these traits, Rakitic is valued at £30 million which would account to nearly €35 million, far below Barcelona’s evaluation.

Ivan Rakitic’s injury record is commendable as the Croat has missed just nine games through illness or injury in five years.

Despite all these claims, Rakitic has vowed to stay at Nou Camp for the next season.

“I want to win another Champions League with Barca. I have three years left in my contract and I never thought about leaving. Me and my family are happy here.” added Rakitic.
