The Cenation leader John Cena was recently a guest on a BBC chat show where he talked about football with football pundit Mark Lawrenson.
During the conversation, John Cena happened to mention his favourite footballer at present, and it’s none other than the recently crowned Ballon d’Or winner , Cristiano Ronaldo!.
Here is what Cena revealed during the chat:
“If I had to name some famous footballers, I would start and end with Cristiano Ronaldo. That’s it.”
It is well known that John Cena is a die hard fan of English premier League side Tottenham Hotspur. Cena mentioned the time where he had the opportunity to visit the then home stadium of the Spurs, the White Hart Lane.
He had the chance to visit the iconic stadium during WWE’s tour of London. Cena happened to mention his memories of the trip, he said:
I really loved it because it was right in the heart of the city – it reminded me of an old baseball stadium with its nostalgia and tradition.
“I got to hear about the Spurs being the working man’s team, I got to meet the coach and it was beautiful to see the bright green pitch amidst all the city concrete.
When asked on what position would he prefer on a football pitch, Cena said:
“If I were to play myself, I would be on the bench because I have watched a few games, and it is a lot of running – I don’t run very well, or very far. I think being an inspirational coach might be my best role”.
Cena is currently a free agent in the company and was last seen at the Survivor series pay per view.
The legendary wrestler is slowly but surely moving away from the ring as his Hollywood and television career is starting to catch fire.
With Wrestlemania on the horizon, you can bet that the WWE would want to have Cena in a marquee match at the mega event.
But which match will it be?
