Jose Mourinho has offered his advice to Unai Emery on Mesut Ozil.

Mesut Ozil has been hitting headlines for wrong reasons this season. The German International who kicked off the season decently lost his way after being hampered by the continuous injuries.

Former Real Madrid midfielder picked up a back injury in a hilarious manner. There were several reports quoting that the 30-year-old used to play the famous video game ‘Fornite’ more than five hours a day which aggravated the injury.

Following that injury, he made four appearances against Qarabag, Brighton, Burnley, and Southampton. But, he did not do any justice to his selection by putting in a lament performance.

Another injury hampered his season, and he was forced to miss the games against Liverpool and Fulham. But, when Unai Emery was questioned about the decision to leave the midfielder out of the squad against West Ham, he said that the players who are in the team sheet are the ones who deserved.

However, he was named on the bench in a mouthwatering clash against Chelsea which resulted in a 2-0 win on Saturday. With some easy fixtures coming up, it will be interesting to see how things pan out for the German.

When Jose Mourinho moved to Real Madrid in 2010, he bought Mesut Ozil. He was nothing short of remarkable at Santiago Bernabeu by constantly linking up with Cristiano Ronaldo, Gonzalo Higuain, and Karim Benzema.

Featuring in Bein TV, Jose Mourinho asks Unai Emery to think twice about taking a call on Ozil.

“Honestly, I don’t know what is going on,”

“I don’t know if he is having physical problems or not, I know that there was some problems relating to his contract.

“He’s leaving on a free, he’s not leaving on a free, he finally signed a contract and he decided to stay.

“There’s not an issue with contract so I believe either there is something from the physical point of view or there is a confrontation of ideas with Unai.

“I think the nature of football is exactly this nature, if Ozil plays amazingly well – maybe not with Unai – and maybe a certain player who I don’t remember was phenomenal with Unai and he doesn’t work as well with me.

“It’s just the nature of empathy. I just feel that Ozil is the kind of player that needs both sides of it.

“By one side, if you are just sweet with him, you lose your natural aggression because he’s not naturally very strong physical player in terms of aggression.

“If you are too strong with him and you forget that he also needs a little bit of care, a little bit of love, you don’t find that balance so I think it’s about finding the right balance with him.”

Arsenal will face Manchester United in the Fourth round of the FA Cup on Friday night.
