Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has taken a swipe at rival manager Pep Guardiola over the fitness of City’s playmaker in chief David Silva ahead of Sunday’s derby clash.
Jose is said to be ticked off after the Spaniard didn’t travel with the City squad ahead of their Champions League clash on Wednesday and Pep admits doubts over his availability for the derby.
Mourinho’s frustration is understandable after Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette played the whole 90 minutes against United when he was completely ruled out of the match just 48 hours prior to the kickoff.

When asked about the injury concerns of his own players, Mourinho said, ” When we have a problem, we have a problem.
“When players are injured, they are injured. I tell you the truth. The truth is Eric Bailly has no chance for the weekend, Phil Jones a chance, [Marouane] Fellaini a chance, Zlatan [Ibrahimovic] a big chance and [Nemanja] Matic is injured but will play for sure. [Michael] Carrick, no chance.”
“No stories of Lacazette or David Silva. All the truth. Our opponents have all these issues. They have a big issue but, in the end, everybody is ready to play. They have phenomenal organisations.
We are a bit more humble.” Mourinho said after United won their Champions League group with a 2-1 win over CSKA Moscow, and reaching the last 16 of the competition for the first time in 3 years.
United are now unbeaten in their last 40 games at home and will look to extend the streak when they host League leaders Manchester City in what could be the most important match of the season so far.
