Jose Mourinho takes a brutal dig at Jurgen Klopp and Mauricio Pochettino as he talked about managerial philosophies.
Earlier this week, the former Manchester United manager announced his comeback date to football management.
And as the time for his return nears, Jose Mourinho is back to taking savage digs at his managerial contemporaries. In the same conversation with beIN, Mourinho seemed to comment on Pochettino and Jurgen Klopp for their failure to win trophies.
Jose Mourinho has been at war of words with the Liverpool manager during his time at Manchester United. He has often attacked Klopp for his trophyless tenure at Liverpool.
Here’s what Mourinho said on Pochettino and Klopp yesterday:
Mourinho’s dig at Pochettino and Klopp:
Talking to beIN Sport, Jose Mourinho stated that he wouldn’t change his philosophy, which came under significant scrutiny during his time at Manchester United.
“I won titles everywhere I have been and I cannot run away from my mentality,” Mourinho said.
“Some coaches like to sell the idea of a philosophy, but you have to sell the philosophy after you win. If you win nothing what is the point?”
He further signified that a team wins only when it plays well, thus also seemingly taking a dig over the idea of beautiful, or attacking football.
“If your team plays very well, your team wins, so I don’t like these contradictions we have in football nowadays.”
Jose Mourinho was criticised for his philosophy at Manchester United. The general consensus during the later stages of his career at Old Trafford was that Mourinho’s football didn’t suit the club’s style of play.
As a result, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s attacking philosophy almost immediately settled at the club, thus providing results on a regular basis.
Jose Mourinho stated that he would make a return to football management in June.

You can hate Jose Mourinho but claiming that “Poch and Klopp have overtaken him11” is a load of bullshit. One is a German ADHD PE teacher and the other is a glorified trophyless Argentinian Moyes.
