Juventus have a mouthwatering squad depth for the upcoming season.
Juventus confirmed the arrival of Matthijs De Ligt from Ajax for £67.5 million today. The Italian side also welcomed Adrien Rabiot, Aaron Ramsey, and Gianluigi Buffon in this transfer window.
The Old Lady are king of ‘Bosman’ transfers and snapped up the other three for nothing. On the other hand, Matthijs De Ligt will prove to be value for money because of the long-term availability for the club and will take over the backline from Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini.
Despite lifting eight straight Serie A titles, the Italian side have significantly improved by making spectacular signings. Since their prominent rise from 2010, the Italian Champions have formed a formidable side year by year.
However, they have a different squad altogether this season. They have the tremendous squad depth to challenge against all odds in every single competition.
The goalkeeping department comprises of Wojciech Szczesny, Matteo Perin, Gianluigi Buffon, and Carlo Pinsoglio. This has an abundance of experience and quality at the top-level.
As for the defence department, Maurizio Sarri has excessive options to work. Matteo Di Sciglio, Alex Sandro, Joao Cancelo, and Luca Pellegrini are the full-back available for grabs. With a mix of experience and young, Matthijs De Ligt, Giorgio Chiellini, Leonardo Bonucci, Daniele Rugani, and Merih Demiral are the available centre-back options.
Miralem Pjanic, Aaron Ramsey, Adrien Rabiot, Blaise Matuidi, Emre Can, Sami Khedira, and Rodrigo Bentancur will be the central midfield choices for the new Juventus manager. Through either of the attacking flanks, Juan Cuadrado, Douglas Costa, Federico Bernadeschi, and Marko Pjaca will be deployed.
Along with the record signing Cristiano Ronaldo, Paulo Dybala, Mario Mandzukic, Gonzalo Higuain, and Moise Kean are the other options for Maurizio Sarri in the forward department.
