Kedar Jadhav replacement vs MI

Kedar Jadhav replacement vs MI: The Sportsrush presents before you three names who can replace Kedar Jadhav vs Mumbai Indians.

Chennai Super Kings middle-order batsman Kedar Jadhav getting injured right before the playoffs has come as a massive blow for them. It was a shoulder injury against Kings XI Punjab yesterday which ruled out the 34-year cricketer from the tournament.

In 14 matches for Super Kings in IPL 2019, Jadhav scored 162 runs at a below par average and strike rate of 18 and 95.85 respectively. Despite his lean patch, Jadhav will be doubtlessly missed in the playoffs. During the post-match press conference, CSK coach Stephen Fleming had opened up on the extent of Jadhav’s injury.

Given his contribution to the Indian middle-order in the recent year or so, the team management would be hoping for him to recover in time for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.

Kedar Jadhav replacement vs MI:

Dhruv Shorey

In the only match which right-hand batsman Dhruv Shorey played in IPL 2019, it was also against Mumbai Indians at Chepauk. Despite scoring 5 (8) in a losing effort, Shorey is likely to resume his batting duty at No. 6. In 28 T20s, Shorey has scored 610 runs at an average of 29.04 and a strike rate of 121.75 including five half-centuries.

Given Shorey’s record across formats in domestic cricket in association with Super Kings’ tendency of backing their players, it will be unlikely of them to include an uncapped batsman in a crunch match.

Narayan Jagadeesan

The 23-year old Tamil Nadu wicket-keeper batsman was bought by Chennai last year. Having yet to make his debut for Chennai Super Kings, Jagadeesan might be included as a replacement for the injured Jadhav. In 19 T20s, Jagadeesan had scored 261 runs at an average of 26.10 and a strike rate of 119.72.

Chaitanya Bishnoi

Also bought by CSK in last year’s auction, even 24-year old Haryana batsman Chaitanya Bishnoi is yet to make his IPL debut. In 19 T20s, the southpaw has scored 383 runs at an average of 27.35 and a strike rate of 108.49.
