Kevin Durant will be embracing free agency come the end of the 2019 season, with the Warriors man slated for a move away from the Bay are.

Multiple teams are in line to secure the services of KD, with Lakers, Clippers and the Knicks leading the way.

LeBron James and the Lakers are trying to build a dynasty of their own in LA, one that would need at least two more superstars alongside LeBron.

Now, LeBron has been actively recruiting stars for the Lakers, with KD, Klay Thompson and Kawhi Leonard being the free agents that the Lakers would want to sign.

Anthony Davis is their top target and after the Pelicans’ visit of the Staples centre a few days back, it seems as if LeBron has been able to plant the first seed for Davis’ move to LA.

Despite signing Davis(if they do), Lakers should be in a position to grab hold of another superstar and KD might just be it.

Kevin Durant though isn’t solely looking at the project in front of him but also focussing on the money that he can make through his next move.

In an honest interview, Kevin Durant has revealed that during his free agency all he would care about his how much money he can make.

“I just want to make sure I get as much money as I can on my next deal so I can stack up my money and figure it out. That’s just the plan. Play basketball and stack money.” Durant said.

While a lot of other stars have been cryptic with their statements about free agency or their next big project, Durant did not mince any words.

But that could also be a hint that he might be staying put in 2019-20, as he has a chance of getting that super max extension with the Warriors next season, one that would end up getting him $221 million.

Now, if he decides to move on from the Warriors and sign for the Clippers, Lakers or the Knicks, he would be able to get only $164 million for a 4 year contract.

So, if KD is really looking to stack up the cash(and be in familiar surroundings), he should re-sign with the Warriors and build his legacy in the Bay area.

LeBron James and the Lakers will then need to shift all their attention to Kawhi Leonard as Klay Thompson too is certain of resigning with the Warriors(at least that is what his dad feels).
