“Ernie Johnson cooked Shaq and Kenny to the big board”: Hilarity ensues on Inside the NBA as the EJ wins a race to the big board
Ernie Johnson walked back to his chair like a diva after making short work of his race to the big board against Kenny and Shaq.
The Inside crew had a ton of opportunities for good fun today. Both games broadcast on TNT ended up being blowouts. The Bucks’ turnaround to blow the Heat out after trailing at halftime was particularly impressive. It also ensured that Chuck’s prediction of a sweep came true.
One of the big fixtures of the show over the years has been the big board in the background. The Inside crew uses it to keep note of their various takes, bets and predictions through the course of a season.
Races to the board have often been a huge hit with NBA fans who catch the TNT telecast. These seem to take place once every month (somebody get us the advanced stats please!)
Ernie Johnson bulldozes Kenny and Shaq in the race to the big board
Today’s race was pretty special because of its one-sided nature. Kenny was just finished making a point when he began turning around on his chair. Ernie quickly realized just what’s up, and so did Shaq.
So what really transpired was that as Kenny with his bad knees tried to get a head start, Ernie spun around quickly and began jogging to the big board, and fast. Shaq was caught off guard, but he made a valiant attempt till about halfway before giving up.

As is the case with every epic Ernie moment, the sportscaster had the perfect response in store. He turned back nonchalantly, and then began walking back to his chair with hilarious amounts of swag.

It seems as if Ernie is by far in the best condition of the Inside crew. Which is quite funny, when you think about how he’s sharing the stage with 3 former NBA stars.
