Kevin Owens Pipe Bomb: Former Universal Champion cuts a vicious shoot promo on Shane MCMahon

Kevin Owens Pipe Bomb: Former Universal Champion cuts a vicious shoot promo on Shane MCMahon on Last night’s episode of SmackDown.

Shane McMahon, once an enjoyable character on the WWE, has come full circle as a McMahon. Long accused of making the show all about themselves, the McMahon Scion was seen as the only member of the family willing to take a step back and not thrust himself into the limelight.

Oh, how time changes. Vince, Stephanie and Triple H have all resigned themselves to their Backstage roles. Shane on the other hand, is now on TV 2 times a week. Sometimes 3, if there’s a Pay per View. This has inadvertently meant that the time available to their large roster has cut down extremely. Wrestlers who were previously getting only 5 to 10 minutes per week have now been reduced to travelers; only there for the catering experience.

Kevin Owens acknowledged all of this in his promo tonight as he channeled the frustrations of the many WWE fans around the world. Speaking after Shane McMahon cancelled his match against Dolph Ziggler, Kevin Owens tore into the WWE’s prodigal son through a pipe bomb of his own.

Pop up Pipe bomb

“You know what, last week I came out here and I spoke the truth about Dolph Ziggler. But it looks like tonight someone else needs to hear the truth, and that’s Shane McMahon. Now I’ve sat back and tried to be a good guy; a good company guy and not p*ss anyone off for too long, and I’m done with that because it doesn’t get me anything.”

Owens then reminded the fans of the promise WWE made last autumn; A time when ratings had plummeted to an all time low. He then continued his verbal brutalization of Shane.

“So, you know what? A while ago I watched the entire McMahon family come out in this ring and say, “Hey, right now, from now on, we’re gonna listen to the fans and give the audience what they want.” But the only thing that’s happened since then is Shane McMahon has gotten more power, more authority, and more TV time than anyone. And trust me when I say that nobody except him ever wanted this. Now we have to sit back every week on every show and listen to Shane McMahon call himself the best in the world. And every time that happens, it makes me sick. It makes me wanna come out here and smash my head on this stupid table.”

Voice of the Backstage

Shane ordered his mic be cut off Ala CM Punk but Owens picked up another Mic calling him an idiot. He then continued from where he left off.

“This is the biggest load of crp I ever seen. […] Everytime you call yourself the best in the world, that is an insult and a slap to the face to every single person in the back; in the locker room, who breaks their back, week in, week out, on the road, around the world, to be WWE superstars. […] Everybody back there, including me, is thinking Shane McMahon can kiss my ass, because that ring does not belong to you.”

Shane then sent security after Owens who made his away out of the Arena but not before letting one final burn.

“I would never call myself the best in the world. But there’re 100 people back there who can make that claim. You take up TV time from Apollo Crews, Buddy Murphy, Ali, Liv Morgan, Asuka, Kairi Sane…”

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
