A few months back, Antonio Conte decided to drop David Luiz from the side as he blamed the Brazilian for not performing up to scratch in his side’s poor performance against Roma in the Champions League.

While many thought that it was temporary, Conte has surprised one and all and not given Luiz another look into the side. Even club captain Gary Cahill has felt the wrath of the Italian lately, as Conte’s back three against Manchester United consisted of Rudiger, Christensen and Azpilicueta.

Luiz now faces an uphill task to get back into the squad, as the Brazilian will want to be fit and ready to go for the World Cup in a couple of months’ time.

Apparently Conte had a falling out with Luiz over the tactics that were employed by the Italian in some matches. Conte is also reportedly unhappy about the friendship that Luiz shares with former striker Diego Costa.

Costa was someone who had a major falling out with Conte, and was banished by the coach. Costa finally got his move to Atletico Madrid, but it seems as if his shadow is still lingering over Stamford Bridge.

This is what Liam Rosenior had to say,

“There is a lot of talk of player power,” Rosenior told Sky Sports’ The Debate.

“I think a lot of it is to do with the finances and wages involved.

“It is a £50million player. He’s a man and sometimes the human side of things are forgotten.

We now understand that Philippe Coutinho has informed this to his Barcelona team mates, and wants the club to bid for Luiz in the summer. The defender is in fact quite happy to make the switch to Barcelona, as Luiz would be even willing to take a pay cut in order to achieve this.

With Yerry Mina also poised to go out on loan next season, Luiz’s arrival could prove to be a very good signing for the Barcelona team.
