KKR Playing 11 today

KKR Playing 11 today: The Sportsrush presents before you KKR’s Predicted Playing 11 for their 12th match of IPL 2019 vs MI.

Just when it looked like no one could endure a worse season than RCB, KKR have stepped up and shown how low the quality of cricket can be. In what has been a devastating fixture list for them, the side has slumped to six straight defeats, something that sees them placed at sixth in the table.

What has been a massive let down for the side is not the defeats but the manner in which they’ve come out. They’ve been taken apart by sides, out batted and out bowled time and time again with no one apart from Andre Russell even remotely interested in helping the side put a halt to the losing spree.

Expect the same side to go out to the field when the well-rounded and complete Mumbai Indians come. It’s going to be an extremely difficult match for KKR to get past by, such is the colossal might of MI and we take a look at the players who might put up a challenge for KKR.

KKR Playing 11 today

Top-order

Having tried out a new opening partnership the previous time around, it was one that heavily fell flat on its face. They’ll be looking to reinstate Sunil Narine at the top of the order to come out and open with Chris Lynn.

Given the immense depth in Mumbai’s pace battery, one which will flourish on a surface where the new ball misbehaves and frisks around, KKR need to see the opening partnership give them some kind of platform.

Coming in at number three will be Shubham Gill, another player who was expected to show that he can be considered for the Indian side in the time to come. His bid has fizzled out long before it begun with repeated failures but expect KKR to continue playing him with no one better at their disposal.

Middle-order

A middle-order which has been shambolic, saw Nitish put on one good innings against RCB before eventually returning back to type against the Royals. Rinku Singh will follow him up before Dinesh Karthik and Andre Russell follow as per what has been their usual order.

What KKR should be looking to do is promote both Dinesh Karthik and Andre Russel and give the two inform batsmen the maximum number of overs to come out and play their shots in.

Only these two look to be the ones who can put the runs on the board and the team management’s game-plan of sending them in at number 5 and 6 has only let the side facing an adverse time in the league.

Bowlers

With Kuldeep Yadav having been dropped after an extremely lacklustre tournament, Piyush Chawla and Sunil Narine will continue to be the ones given the eight overs of the slower stuff for their side.

While the spin department can still be relied on to give wicket at regular intervals, it’s the pace unit which has been left picking up the pieces.

In Prashid Krishna, Prithvi Raj Yarra, Andre Russell and Carlos Braithwaite, KKR don’t have even a single front line pacer among their squad. These are just squad fillers, players who can get by the overs but not be decisive. They’ll be the ones selected though and it looks to be seen how they perform against MI’s heavy batting unit.
