KKR vs RCB Man of the Match: Royal Challengers Bangalore batsman was declared the ‘Man of the Match’ for his incredible knock vs KKR.

During the 35th match of the ongoing 12th season of the Indian Premier League between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore at Kolkata, Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 10 runs to register their second IPL 2019 victory.

Chasing a 214-run target, Kolkata were going nowhere at the halfway mark of their chase. However, the fact that they remained in contention despite needing 154 runs in 10 overs speaks highly about the prowess of their duo of Nitish Rana and Andre Russell.

The duo stitched a 118-run partnership for the fifth wicket to keep the opposition bowlers on their toes. It was only when KKR needed 23 runs in the last four balls that Moeen Ali kept his calm with the bowl in hand to restrict the opposition to 203/5 in 20 overs.

While Russell scored 65 (25) with the help of two fours and nine sixes, Rana ended up scoring 85 * (46) with the help of nine fours and five sixes. With bowling figures of 4-0-32-1, Marcus Stoinis was the pick of the bowlers for RCB tonight.

Opening the batting with wicket-keeper batsman Parthiv Patel (11), Kohli batted throughout the innings to lead Royal Challengers to a formidable total of 213/4 in 20 overs. Starting in his quintessential manner, Kohli didn’t go too hard against the bowlers from the word go.

In what was an archetype Kohli innings, he ended up scoring 100 (58) with the help of nine fours and a four sixes. After completing his century on the penultimate delivery of the innings, Kohli was eventually dismissed on the last ball. The 30-year old cricketer was declared the ‘Man of the Match’ for scoring his fifth IPL half-century.
