Kohli on sharing verbals with Paine at Perth

Kohli on sharing verbals with Paine at Perth: The Indian captain was vocal about his much discussed on-field behaviour at Perth.

Despite the third Test slated to begin in another 12 hours, fans can’t get over both the captains going at each other during the second Test of the series at Perth. The verbals were followed by a frosty handshake after India lost the match by 147 runs.

Kohli’s excitement was at a level that his on-field behaviour went on to become the highlight of the match. While former Australia spearhead Mitchell Johnson criticized the same, India Coach labelled Kohli as an ‘absolute gentleman‘. It is worth mentioning that many other former players had also commented on the same.

Speaking to the media a day before the third Test match, India captain Kohli posted a strong message for his batsmen, asking them to stand up ahead of the Boxing Day Test. Apart from that, Kohli was also asked about his on-field behaviour, something which Kohli gave the impression of not being bothered about much.

“That’s in the past. As I said, it’s Test cricket at the highest level when two tough teams are going against each other. There will be things that happen on the field. I think it’s important to leave it there and focus on the next Test match. We are definitely not looking to find something to talk about.

“You just want to play good, competitive cricket and when both teams are passionate and desperate to win, obviously, those things happen on the field,” Kohli was quoted.

Given the fact that neither out of Kohli or Paine crossed boundaries on the field, one expects both the teams to play an attacking brand of cricket in the third Test as well.
