MS Dhoni took over proceedings in Chennai on Sunday, treating the yellow army to some vintage MS Dhoni stroke making. RR came out short once again and will need to get back to the drawing board to figure out where they have been going wrong.

CSK on the other hand have learnt the art of winning crunch games, thanks to the culture that has been infused in the team by MS Dhoni.

The Chennai franchise react to tough situations brilliantly, something that has been part of their DNA for a long time now. Their bowling has been found out on multiple occasions, especially when batting conditions are good. However, last night Dwayne Bravo’s efforts ensured that somehow they defended the target of 175 in slippery conditions.

We move to Mohali for Monday’s game between KXIP and DC. Two teams with brilliant stroke makers; the game could be a run feast, especially when the surface is as flat as that in Mohali.

Let’s get to business now.

KXIP vs DC Dream 11 Prediction

Wicketkeeper

For the wicketkeeper slot, it is going to be straight shootout between KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant. I am going to sound a little like Ravi Shastri  here, but the only way to solve this conundrum is, basing your selection on current form.

KL Rahul is coming on the back of a match winning 70 odd, one that was good enough to take his team home against MI. Rishabh Pant on the other hand had a torrid time with the bat against KKR. The Delhi boy was unable to find the middle of the bat and struggled big time for any kind of timing. Also, with KXIP playing at home, I am assuming KL Rahul knows the conditions a little better. Thus, I am going in with KL Rahul over Rishabh Pant.

Another thing that warrants Rahul’s selection over Pant is that he opens the batting.

Bowlers

Kagiso Rabada and Andrew Tye are the respective death bowlers of DC and KXIP. Rabada showcased his class in the last game, when in the super over, he managed to defend 10 runs despite being hit for a boundary off the first ball. He kept pitching the ball in the blockhole and knocked over the in-from Russell with a peach of a delivery.

Andrew Tye hasn’t really set the IPL on fire as of now, but is certain to be KXIP’s lead bowler at the death. Despite he not hitting top form, one can expect Tye to run a way with a few cheap wickets at the death.

Sandeep Lamichanne’s trickery has bamboozled batsmen all around the world. Any and every T20 league that he plays in, he has enjoyed success and the IPL should be no different. They way he bowled in the last game, one thing is for sure, DC will not thinnk of dropping him for sometime now. Against a KXIP middle order that is predominantly of right-handers, Lamichanne could come in really handy.

For my final bowling pick of the day, I would be going in with the in-form Harshal Patel, as he picked up a couple of wickets in the last game and was also on a hattrick at a stage, Yes, he did go for a few runs, but wickets is all that matters to us in ‘fantasy cricket’. Also, the fact that he comes in for just 8cr, helps me with my team balance and combination.

All-Rounders

The only all-rounder worth drafting into my team for this game is Chris Morris. The tall, lanky South African has played just 1 game in this season’s IPL so far and is yet to set the stage on fire, but in time, he will. His role in the previous game suggested that he would bowl out his quota of 4 overs, with two of them at death. Also, he would be batting at number 7, giving him the chance to use the long-handle to good effect. Get him in.

Batsmen

Prithvi Shaw’s innings in the last game vs KKR showed that he is ready to perform in the big league, with the best players in the world. While his shot making could seem risky at times, his attitude towards the game is just the best and he is superstar in the making.

On a flat and quick Mohali pitch, he could come off really good, especially after that blistering knock in Delhi. Get him in.

Supporting Prithvi Shaw at the Kotla vs KKR a couple of days back was Shreyas Iyer. Iyer has settled into that number 3 role for DC pretty admirably. He knows when to curb himself a little and when to explode in order to provide that impetus to his team. Again, on a flat surface and riding on his form from the last game; you can expect Shreyas Iyer to come good once again.

Like Prithvi Shaw and Shreyas Iyer; Chris Gayle and Mayank Agarwal are in brilliant form for KXIP. Mayank Agarwal turned the course of the MI game last time round, upping the ante when KL Rahul was struggling to get going. Scores 22, 58 and 43 are enough to prove that coming in at 3, Mayank Agarwal is trying to control the flow of the KXIP innings. Get him in.

Chris Gayle has scores of 77,20, 40 in his 1st 3 outings and has been striking the ball extremely well. On that flat Mohali deck, one that Gayle is getting quite used to, one would be quite foolish to leave him out and miss out on the Gayle storm. Get him in at all costs.

For the final batting spot, I would go in with Shikhar Dhawan, who has been handed the anchor’s role by DC for this season. The Indian opener has gotten off to starts in all innings and could really tee off on Monday, owing to KXIP’s rather average bowling unit and the flat Mohali surface.

KXIP vs DC Dream 11 Prediction: Dream 11 Fantasy Tips for KXIP vs DCCaptain: Shikhar Dhawan

Vice-Captain: Shreyas Iyer

Happy team picking.
