Kylian Mbappe set to earn close to €1m-per-week at PSG as the club seek to offer him a new deal that would see him stay at the French for five more years.

Kylian Mbappe is turning out to be the player PSG so desperately hoped Neymar would be. The youngster championed the side to another French league, having scored 33 goals in just 29 Ligue 1 games. The youngster has truly overtaken and overshadowed the Brazilian with his performances.

This has certainly bothered Neymar, who is witnessing himself fall down the totem pole. The forward is now looking for a way out of Paris and is seeking a return to Barcelona. This behaviour has certainly angered the higher ups at the club. They are no longer opposed to seeing the Brazilian forward walk out of the club, should they be adequately reimbursed.

According to El Pais per Sport, once Neymar leaves and they free up their wage bill, PSG will offer a new 5-year contract to Mbappe. The new contract will see Mbappe pocket €961,538 per week. This amount works out to almost 50 million per season before tax. This will be 38 million more than what he is currently offered and 20 million more than what Neymar currently earns.

With this contract, PSG will hope to ward off interest from Manchester City. The English Champions’ manager Guardiola is said to be a huge fan of the striker and has been in contact with him since 2017. By making him the second highest earning footballer, PSG will definitely outprice the youngster from the clutches of Guardiola. In return though, they will hope that Kylian Mbappe maintains his rich vein of form.
