Lionel Messi misses an open goal against Slavia Prague in a rare occurence

Lionel Messi misses an open goal against Slavia Prague, the miss by Messi makes one think that the golden boot winner is also a human.

Lionel Messi has no match to his goal-scoring rate, as the Argentine International becomes the first player to score in 15-consecutive Champions League seasons.

Yet, there are times when Messi makes blunders and social media erupts. Once again, Messi made a silly miss against Slavia Praha in the Champions League group stage round.

Barcelona was being dominated by the hosts in the match, even though the former had a lead on them by 2-1, but the difference was getting even more vulnerable with each passing attack.

But, amidst all of this, Barcelona had a chance of settling this game, as Jordi Alba makes a pass to Messi, who was clearly in front of the goal and had to just tap the ball correctly into the goal.

On any other day, Messi would’ve had no problem in finding the net but the 32-year-old star misses a sitter in front of a clear goal after the ball trips out of his control and shocking everyone in the process.

If Messi had scored that goal, then Barcelona could have added more pressure at Slavia Prague, and might have extended the lead instead of thwarting away all the decisive chances made by the Czech club.

Despite it, Messi had a good game, as he scored the opening goal in the game, after picking a pass from Arthur Melo in the 4th minute, and later, through his pinpoint pass, Barcelona secured a 2 goal lead but the goal was awarded as own goal and was not credited to Luiz Suarez, who made efforts to place the ball into net.

With this, Suarez’s drought in the away Europen games continue, but now Barcelona are at the top with the 7 points in 3 games so far in this edition.
