Lionel Messi: Sergio Aguero opines on Ballon D'Or winner, excludes Messi from the list

Lionel Messi: Sergio Aguero opines on Ballon D’Or winner, excludes Messi from the list while he feels that winner should be from the Champions league final.

Barcelona’ star Lionel Messi has been phenomenal this season by playing a crucial role in Barcelona’s La Liga triumph and could secure a double, if the Catalan club wins Copa Del Rey final.

The Argentine International was also influential in Barcelona’s campaign in this Champions league by being on the verge of winning the top scorer award in the tournament. However, a magical performance by Liverpool to make 4-3 aggregate comeback shunned Barcelona’s dream.

Although, it wouldn’t be wrong to see Lionel Messi leading the Ballon D’or podium this year, as he has achieved an incredible record this season yet again by amassing 48 goals in 47 appearances across all competitions.

On the other side, in a surprising statement by Sergio Aguero, while asking about the deserving winner of Ballon D’or this year, he quoted.

“I believe that, no matter who wins, the Ballon D’Or should go to a player involved in the UEFA Champions League final,” Aguero stated.

Thus, excluding his best-mate in Argentina national team from the prestigious individual award list. It seems that the 30-year-old striker values the European prize a lot as he is yet to win one.

However, considering Messi’s exploits this year, many believe that the 5-time Ballon D’or winner will conquest the price again in December.
