While their attack remains one of the most formidable forces in Europe right now, Liverpool’s defense has always been under the scanner. Despite losing Philippe Coutino to Barcelona in the winter, Liverpool look great and pacy in their attack.

But on the other hand, even with the additions of Virgil van Djik at the back end of the pitch, their defense looks a little shaky. Especially with the keeper problems that Jurgen Klopp faces.

Surely good players in their own right, Belgian Simon Mignolet and German Lloris Karius haven’t proved their worth as neither of them have cemented their place in the starting XI.

Addressing this massive issue, Spanish outlet El Confidencial recently reported a move from Liverpool to land Real Madrid and Costa Rican shot stopper Keylor Navas. Jurgen Klopp is claimed to be a long-term admirer of the former Levante man and has expressed his intention to land him at the Kop.

El Confidencial claim that the main reason Navas has yet to move elsewhere is due to his unwillingness to depart the Santiago Bernabeu and complete his contract which runs until 2020.

However, now that Real Madrid are set to land a new Galactico in Thibaut Courtois or most probably- David de Gea, Navas’ chances of making the cut to the starting XI will be bleak.

According to El Confidencial, Klopp has made it clear on ‘several’ occasions to Madrid’s president Florentino Perez that he wants to sign Navas. As well as the Reds’, Sevilla are also interested in buying the 31-year old.

Following his heroics in the 2014 FIFA World Cup, Navas was picked up by Real Madrid on the cheap from Levante. Since then the keeper has only went upwards, winning back-to-back Champions League titles, UEFA Super Cups and FIFA Club World Cup along with the La Liga as well.

With De Gea or Coutois coming in very soon, Real Madrid could certainly look to part ways with their keeper. While Navas has been brilliant for Real Madrid over the years, it looks like the Costa Rican’s time at the Bernabeu is up.
