Luis Suarez on Dembele: The Barcelona striker has finally spoken on Ousmane Dembele’s tense situation at Barcelona.

Ousmane Dembele is creating a stir in the Barcelona camp. The forward’s ill-discipline is increasingly becoming a worry for the Barca staff, and the players have begun to publically speak on the issue.

According to reports from Spanish media, Ousmane Dembele is late to training sessions and is unavailable for communication. He was punished by Ernesto Valverde before the game against Real Betis, as he was altogether dropped from the squad.

However, Barcelona reportedly believes that the problems are deeply rooted. According to reports from AS, the late-night gaming sessions for Dembele have hampered his daily routine to such an extent that Barcelona are considering parting ways with the player.

Now, Barcelona star Luis Suarez has also voiced his opinion on the issue during a press conference at national duty with Uruguay.

Luis Suarez on Dembele:

Luis Suarez is not the first Barca player to speak about Ousmane Dembele on public platform. Earlier, Gerard Pique also talked about the Frenchman’s issues with discipline.

“We were also young and we have also committed mistakes,” Pique said, as quoted by Reuters. “From experience, we have to help him to understand that football is a 24-hour job and he has to live accordingly.”

Luis Suarez has also insisted that Dembele should take ‘inspiration’ from the professionals in the Barcelona dressing room.

“It isn’t that he hasn’t adapted to his teammates in the dressing room,” Suarez began. “He has the best relationship possible.

“He seems happy but obviously, as some colleagues said, as Ousmane himself knows, football is a privilege.

“I think he should focus on football, and take inspiration from the exemplary professionals in the Barcelona dressing room.

“He must be more responsible in some respects.”

Barcelona’ general manager, Pep Segura earlier stated in an interview with ESPN that the club is working with Dembele to get the best out of him. He also admitted that it is difficult for any player to adapt to life at Barcelona.

“It’s a normal situation for a young player with a lot of talent who has arrived at a club as big as Barca, full of great players,” Segura stated.

“He had never experienced that before and there’s an adaptation process that he has to go through.

“He’s really young and he’s never had to get up to adjust to a playing style like ours. We admit he’s finding it difficult. He also recognizes that. What we are doing is working as hard as possible so that he can adapt in the best possible way.”
