Man United Transfer News: Manchester United shockingly inquires about Leicester City flop

Man United Transfer News: Manchester United shockingly inquires about Islam Slimani who has been an absolute flop with Leicester City.

Manchester United has a poor record in making transfers and to assert this claim further, the Red Devils have once again made a shocking transfer inquiry amidst the winter transfer window.

According to a report by the Daily Mail, Manchester United has made an inquiry about Leicester City’s flop player Islam Slimani to replace injured Marcus Rashford.

The paper says that the loan fee for the 31-year-old could be £4 million, with the Foxes capitalising on how desperate the Red Devils are to recruit a striker.

Manchester United’s frontline has slimmed down in resources to a massive extent after Rashford picked an injury against Wolverhampton, which will probably keep him out till March.

The English International was having a brilliant season as he was the highest goalscorer in Manchester United this season by scoring 14 goals and 4 assists in 22 appearances across all seasons.

Thus, Ole Solskjaer does not have any experienced alternates to place in the absence of Rashford. Hence, the board at Manchester United even considered about Slimani with only a week left in the winter transfer window.

Meanwhile, Slimani is on a loan to Monaco and has been decent by scoring 7 goals in 13 appearances for the French giants. However, the Algerian international had an underwhelming tenure at Leicester City.

With the Foxes, Slimani could only acquire 13 goals and 7 assists in the 46 appearances he made at the club. Thus, it would be risky for Manchester United to invest in a player who did not bloom in the Premier League.

It would be better for Ole Solskjaer to keep faith in Mason Greenwood and give him chances until Rashford is not fully fit or to reduce the risks he could look at better alternates.
